Question about 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
Intermittant operation is driving me nuts. Here is the stats: The engine starts normally after a few cranks or cranks without ignition , 50/50 roll the dice. If the motor starts , it will run smoothly for 15 ,30 ,60 min and then cut off . Any attempt to turn the warm engine over results in cranking, no ingnition. After about an hour the motor will start again with the same results. I have replaced the fuel filter and the relay and fuses are ok. I do here the FP engage (buzz) for about 3 sec when the key is turned. The motor was fully tuned 1 month ago. The motor has 125,000 miles and I suspect the FP is the original one. Is there a way to test the FP other than the buzz in the first key position, and does this mean it is operating properly??
You could have a loose wire connection to the fuel pump. try to see if any wire need to be crimped back on the fp!.
