Check Engine Light On - 2003 Chevy Blazer

My check engine light was on. I thought that it was because the oil change was over due. I got the oil changed but the light did not go off. While at a stop sign the next day the light went off. My mechanic said that my car does not have this feature for oil (check engine light coming on). Is that true or do I need to find an new mechanic?

2003 Chevy Blazer idles low and rough and accelerates rough until about 25 or 30 mph. Afterwards, it drives great, but the service engine light continues to flash.

Flashing service engine lights are very bad, means there is a problem that can potential cause harm to the engine. Sounds like you may have a bad coil. Take it to a place like Autozone which can check the check engine light. They'll give you a print out that will give you a better idea on what's going on. If it's a misfire on a cylinder or two, check plugs and coil, also could be an injector.

03 chevy s10 service soon light is on what has to be serviced

Service soon light usually means basic service such as an oil change, oil transmission something around those lines. Anything more complex would have the check engine light on

I have a 2000 chevy blazer 4.3l engine\is backfiring

Start by checking each cylinder for spark with a good spark tester. A misifre is either spark or fuel, so you can cut the problem in half. The engine light is probably on due to the misfire.

Service engine light stays on after an oil change

The Service Light indicates that the EMC has detected and problem and needs to be addressed. Your going to have the get the Blazer scanned for DTC codes which could be a simple problem as to a faulty Gas Cap to a bad O2 sensor.
Sorry can not help you more then this but most large auto parts store like Auto Zone will scan your blazer for free and some auto shop charge as low as $10.00 to scan and reset the ECM.
Good luck and hope it's something simple.

1996 chevy blazer

no, this is definatly not your problem. low oil will usually turn on the oil light not the check engine light. your going to have to have a scan tool hooked up to it to pull the trouble code. you can try unhooking the battery for 10 minutes or so... this will clear the memory, but the light will most likely come back on
