Need to install a new battery in a 1994 park avenue

I was wondering if their are any chassis bracing in the way of installing a new starting battery in a 1994 park avenue. I need to drive 325 miles to retrieve it from college so I can't see it now.

QUESTION: Without a jump, does the motor crank when you turn the key to "START"?

...

If you can jump start it, then you know you have spark, fuel and compression; you know your starter and ignition are fine.

My guess is a loose/missing connection at the positive battery terminal for your starter.

follow the top radiator hose from the radiator to the engine, the spout the hose hooks to on the engine is the thermostat housing, you unbolt it, pull the old thermostat out, clean the joining surface of the thermo housing and the engine block of debri (old gasket) install new thermostat making sure the spring mechanism on thermostat is installed towards the engine, put the new gasket in place and reinstall the thermostat housing.

You can get this info at Autozone from a Chilton manual about 10.00 for the book .always disconnect the battery first when servicing any part of the charging or starting system.then you will need to release the tension on the tensioner puilley found in the belt drive assembly.remove bolts holding the Alt. and replace. reassemble

1994 buick park avenue, idling up and will not idle down

If it's not sticking throttle linkage, and i assume it isn't because you have an engine light on, it's probably a faulty idle control sensor. You can get one at any parts store, and they aren't hard to remove and replace. The parts guy can show you exactly where it is on his screen.
