Question about 2000 Chevrolet Suburban
When I go from 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel drive I hear an unusual sound. It almost sounds like something is rubbing together. Or like my engine is sucking tons of gas.
Have you ever changed the front axle fluid level? I noticed the same rubbing sound but only when I turn left or right in 4 wheel drive. I don't hear it going straight. I just changed my front axle fluid with synthetic mobile 1 synthetic SAE 75W-90. I plan on changing the rear axle tomorrow with the same synthetic grade oil. I will also change the transfer case sometime this week with dextron III. My e-mail address is firstname.lastname@example.org if you want to follow up with my on my findings. How difficult is it to change? From a scale of 1 to 10, it was an 8. Messy since you have to get the bottle above the hole. I would purchase a manual oil pump which makes it less messy. It took 2 quarts for the front axle with 75W-90.
