Question about Dodge Pickup

1 Answer

Sometimes it will start and sometimes it won't.

2000 Dodge 2500 with a 24 valve Cummins Deisel. I have had the pump in the tank replaced and the fuel injection pump replaced. Some times it will start and some times it spins as if it isn't getting any fuel. If I set and bump the starter till I here the pump start to click, then I can go ahead and start it. If any one out there has any idea to what is or could be the problem I would appreciate any help........Hutch

My 5.9 dodge cummins diesel won't start, I've replaced the fuel lift pump, and the fuel filter, turns over. But will not start?

Most likely you just have air in the lines.Crack them open one at a time and bleed them with the fuel pump off and on till you get fuel.If it fires dont hit the throttle let it sit and idle and close the line.Does it fire up with a small whif of starting fluid?

2000 ram 3500 deisel dies at 2000 rpm won't start

could be fuel elated, there are two fuel pumps, the high pressure pump to feed the injector system and the lift pump to get fuel from tank to the high pressure pump. Check fuel filter also and start there. The fuel pumps are expensive. What have you checked so far and eliminated?

99 Dodge ram 2500 with cummins diesel stalled and won't restart. Changed fuel filter, and determined that there is fuel going to injector pump.

loosen one fuel line to one of the injectors, try to start the truck and look for the fuel to spray out of the line. it should spray rather hard if the injector pump is working right. if it just dribbles or trickles out you have a weak pump.

Filled tank with gas and now my van wont run well or even start sometimes

If this happened right after the fill up then perhaps you put in the wrong octane or perhaps deisel... Some gas stations have older tanks which can be filled with water. Change your fuel filter and also confirm that the fuel pump is up to par and not failing.

We have a 2000 dodge 24 valve 5.9 cummins pickup. it has a PO216 code. it has had 3 new injection pumps, new lift pump that should have taken care of that code. It has had a cam shaft censor replaced and...

The problem is the wires on the back of the lift pump. somewhere along the line there is a bad connection. typically at the back of the lift pump. if they get corroded sometimes they'll work and others it'll run poorly. Replacing the pigtail would be cheap, easy and do it yourself. Start there and you should have it solved in no time.

Sometimes my 2000 chevy blazer will not start. If I hit the gas tank while it is being started it will sometimes start. I am wondering if this is a fuel pump problem or a fuel filter problem. It never...

Usually that is a bad fuel pump. Filter is not on the tank. Test it when it doesn't start, or listen, as when you first turn the key to "run", you should hear the fuel pump cycle.

Dodge cummins won't start, fuel reaching injector pump but no fuel coming out of injector pump.

You said you have fuel flowing from the inlet line of the injection pump? But not at the injector lines?
