Question about BMW 535

Car not starting

Hello I have a 1987 535i BMW that will not start. The problem started when I got into it going home from work and there was no sound at all when I went to start it up. I put a new battery in it and now it makes the start up noise, it just doesn't catch, there's no spark!

Check fuel pressure with a gauge to assure your pump is working correctly. If no check engine codes are being thrown, this may be your problem .

How did you test the battery? The fact that you jumped it and drove home with no problem tells you the battery is the problem.

Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.

To confirm the problem, the basic troubleshooting is required.
