Maybe its a keyed (locking) lug nut.look around in glove box for a little round barreled key. Or use a torch and lots of WD40

How to replace front wheel studs on 2011 Kia Forte

If you can find just the studs and not have to buy the whole hub assembly, screw a lug nut on flush to the stud and drive it out with a hammer, make sure its in a position to have room on the back side. Put in new stud and with a few spacers tighten a lug nut to seat it.

Replace 2008 malibu front stud

jack up vehicle, remove the wheel. then get something to push out broken stud like a punch. do not hit it hard enough to break the hub. then put new stud in from back side of hub make sure it is all the way in, sometimes you can pull it threw stud hole by screwing a lug nut to it to pull it up tight. then replace the wheel.

Replace right front wheel stud

If it is just one stud,it's best to leave it be,I have a 85 Nissan 4x4 and one stud is stripped and I have a repair manual and with it being a 4x4,there is a lot of parts to be remove to get to the stud and it may effect my 4x4ing if something doesn't go back just right.I found a repair guide for yours but it doesn't go into detail. It's best to have a repair manual for this so you will know how everything goes back.

How can I fix cross threaded wheel screws?

Go to the auto parts store and borrow a nutcracker. Attach the nutcracker to the stuck nut. Tighten the nutcracker with a rachet wrench until the cracks completely in half. Now you can remove the wheel. Buy a new wheel stud and lug nut. Your lug nut will be pressed into a metal piece. Remove this piece and either 1) support the metal piece, put a good amount of penetrating oil on both sides of the bad lug nut and tap firmly with a large hammer. Let this sit for 5-10 minutes so that the oil can penetrate the stud. Now pound out the old lug nut with a large hammer. If it will not budge, then you can try heating the stud with a torch until it is quite hot and then hit the stud progressivly harder until it comes out. Now insert the new stud and pound it in until it stops moving. Last, before you reassemble, put the lug not on the new stud and tighten it real good to make sure that the stud is comletely seated. 2) the other option is to take the metal piece to the parts store and let them remove the stud and press a new stud for you.

Replace the tie rod on a 1998 sienna

1 PUT ON YOUR EMERGENCY BREAK, LOOSEN THE WHEEL NUTS ON THE FRONT WHEELS,JACK UP THE CAR AND REMOVE THE FRONT WHEEL. WITH SOME YELLOW PAINT ,MARK THE THREADS WHERE IT SCREWS INTO THE TIE ROD END SO YOU KNOW HOW FAR TO SCREW THE NEW ON ONTO. TAKE OUT THE COTTER PIN AND REMOVE THE CASTLE NUT FROM THE ROD. USE A PRY BAR TO SEPERATE THE BOLT FROM THE TIE ROD END. ONCE SEPARATED YOU SHOULD BE ABLE UNSCREW THE OLD TIE ROD END OFF THE SHAFT..TAKE THE NEW ONE AND SCREW IT BACK ON ONLY TO THE YELLOW PAINT MARK THAT YOU MADE ON THE ROD EARLIER. THEN JUST REASSEMBLE THE SAME WAY YOU TOOK IT APART. MAKE SURE YOU TORQUE THE NUT TO 50 LBS.AND BE SURE TO USE A NEW COTTER PIN ON THE CASTLE NUT..

The screw stud for the lug nut broke off in the lug nut. how do I get the remaining part of the screw stud out??

You take off wheel, (if it's a front wheel stud) you take a punch and punch the stud inward and remainder of stud will fall out. If it's rear, remove drum and do the same. Wheel studs are pressed into the hubs from factory, you can punch them out and pull new ones in using lug nut. Stop by a local parts store they should be able to get you the new stud and lug nut and give you more info.

2000 Dodge Caravan....broken wheel studs...

Yeah , it's a fairly simple repair, All the wheel studs must be replaced and lug nuts also.Closely examine the wheel or get competent tyre replacement company to double check for damage ! Remove the brake disc caliper and brake disc itself (usually 2 cross head screws) , tap off (gently) it may be stuck thru corrosion / rust etc , Broken studs can be knocked out(towards drive shaft ) of the hub assy with a suitable drift and hammer (splined into hub) . The studs are a servicable replacement part. Check all other wheel nuts as this is usually a result from poor fixing or wheel replacement recently .. Good luck

Broke stud on front left side

Yes you can replace the broken wheel stud. The wheel studs are pressed into place, and a vise will work to press it out, and in. You will have to remove the wheel hub, and then use a deep well socket and a bolt or something smaller than the actual stud to remove it with a vise. To replace it, you will need to use the deep well socket on the thread side of the stud, and press the new one in with the vise.

I hope this helps you, and I wish you luck with your repair.

How do i replace the front wheel studs on my hyundai accent

Hyundai in all their wisdom decided to use captive dust shields on the disc brakes. You need to completely disassemble the hub to get the shield off. On my 2008 Accent there is one spot that if you rotate the rotor to that spot and bend the shield back you can then get the stud in place. Be sure to get the right stud as the rear and front are probably different part numbers.

To get the old out use a hammer and a punch to pound them out the back. To get a new one in push it in as far as you can, then using something as a spacer (large nut or washers) and the wheel lug, tighten the stud up drawing it into the rotor.
