Replace north star engine belt

I found this picture, it didn't say northstar. The tensioner in picture has a half-inch cut-out. Use a 1/2 rachet or break-over in cut-out, usually the longer the handle, the better. You pull the tensioner one way or the other to get slack in the belt, then remove belt from accessory pulley.

After changing alternator in 95 cadillac deville the heat doesnt blow at all

The alternator does not have anything to do with the blower fan for heat. You may have unhooked a wire by mistake, or you have a blown fuse. God-Bless!

How to replace power steering belt

Locate the belt tensioner pulley. Insert a bar in the slot and pull to let the tension off the belt. Or cut it off and pull the tensioner to slip on a new belt.

I have the new serpentine belt on my 1996 Cadillac Sedan deVille, but am having trouble tightening the tension.

the tensioner should move counter clock wise to place tension on the belt clock wise to remove belt there is a bolt in the center of the tensioner that bolts it to the engine remove this bolt to detach the tensioner from the engine reverse to install the tensioner will place the correct amount of tension against the belt hope this helps

My 95 cadillac deville power steering just started acting up. Its not the power steering fluid cus i checked and its full. It will work then just go out then work again. Does it need a new pump or what?

I would try a new belt first. If the belt it is old it could be slick and slipping or loose which would cause problems with the steering pump..

How do i put fanbelt back on a 1988 cadillac Deville I can get belt over the hump

there is a tension pully that you need tocompress in order for your belt to go ovetr the pulley there are no adjustment bolts for the belt it is done all by the tension pulley it is the pulley that has a 1/2square so that you can put a 1/2 ratchet or breaker bar on and decompress with this will solve all your belt problem

How do i tighten the tensioner

There is a 1/2 inch square hole for a 1/2 inch breaker bar or ratchet to fit into. Put your belt in place. put your tool in the tensioner. pull the spring back so you can put the belt on. the belt should be so tight that you can not spin the alternator by hand. look at all the belts while your at it. If one is bad all of them need to be checked.
hope this is helpfull to you. Sawdust46
