91 Acura legend running hot I had the

start a cold engine and let it idle . After about 10 minutes you will feel that the top radiator starts to get hot. This indicates that the thermostat is opening and allowing hot coolant through to the radiator. This means that the thermostat was replaced . Point of interest here . Water pumps no not cause over heating. They will have seal and bearing failure but other than that they never cause overheating unless they are 50 years old and rusted away at the impeller. A new pump will be shiny clean.

Is the 93 Mazda rx7 a traditional flow cooling system or a reverse flow cooling system... Meaning does the spring side of the thermostat face the "block" or the theremostat housing?

Hot water or air rises , water inlet goes in the lower part of the engine and exits at the highest point ,the thermostat control element must face the hot water.

2002 pontiac aztect overheating has new thermostat and water pump

Try removing the thermostat and reverse flushing the motor, Actually try flushing in both directions, this will tell you if you have a circulation problem but 1 thing you should know is that the water goes in the water pump and out the thermostat, try running it without the thermostat and check your water flow

How do I get the belt off to replace water pump on 1991 chevy silverado 5.0 motor?

One most chevys in the 90's.The belt tensioners have a sqaure slot undr the idler pulley on the tensioner that a 3/8 socket extention fits neatly into . Put it on a socket wrench put the extion in to the slot and push the preload spring bascily the tensioner toward the center of the engine and the belt fall off . Make sure you know to rooting of the belt you may want to take a picture if there is no decal. Then install in reverse order with the belt going over the tensioner pulley last

I need to know the proper coolant flow direction for a 1998 chevy S10 2Wd 4 cyl 2.2L engine? trying to diagnose an overcooling/ coolant flow problem

Coolant is brought into the engine (water pump) through the lower rad hose then circulated through the casting holes around the cylinders and back out through the thermostat to the upper radiator hose. The coolant will also flow through the heater core from the thermostat side of the engine to the return line of the engine. Is this the answer you seek? Let me know. Thanks

Which way is the thermostat in a 94 t bidr v6

Usually the t/stat has one end with a point on it. This goes up. If that doesn't work, try no t/stat. That's one way to rule out the t/stat

Chevy Celebrity overheating

All you have is one or two fans? Have you checked or replaced the thermostat? The thermostat opens when the engine gets to operating temp, and allows the water in the radiator to flow through engine and the water pump pumps the water out of the engine back through the radiator to cool before it goes back through again. I check the lower radiator hose to see if it get hot like the top hose or you could take the lower hose of the pump to see if it is pumping. I would start with a radiator flush and do this a couple times, prestone makes a flush and Im sure someone else does. do that then change your thermostat, make sure when you put the new one in it goes in spring side down..

This could happen if your fan is indeed weak.  To test disconnect the thermostat of the radiator by removing the terminals near the radiator hose towards the engine.  You should see the fan run at its highest speed, then you can check if your fan has weakened.

Water Pump

I would check the thermostat first; its the easiest to get to and usually the first to go. Unfortunatly if it is bad it usually takes the pump with it when it goes : ( My Fathers car is going through the same thing. But his pump is bad as well.
