Changed the ignition 1999 dodge stratus now it wont fire

Is the key lacking the chip needed for the security system? Could be a short in the Steering column, or one of the relays. Need more info about what you have checked for.

I have a 2001 dodge stratus r//t 3.0l. Will not start. I checked timing, replaced map And tps sensor, distribitor cap and rotor button, checked fuil system, changed gas just to be safe. No more codes after...

if its got compression, fuel and spark at the right moment and still doesn't start call ghostbusters. how did you check timing, manually at the cap or with a light? I've never seen a stratus with a 3.0, how did they fit that one in there.

1999 stratus battery ok,sometimes it won't turn over, then other times it just fires up

If you mean sometimes the started cranks the engine but other times the it will not crank the engine you likely need a new starter solenoid, unfortunately they don't seem to sell them separately for the Stratus, so you will need to replace the entire starter.

Hope this helps.

I replaced the fuel pump and filter in a 99 dodge stratus and it still wont start what can I try to fix it?

Hi,
When you turn the key to "on" (not to crank), listen to determine if you can hear the fuel pump. If you can't hear, you might have someone outside the car and near the gas tank, listen closely as you do this. It's possible the pump isn't working... though you replaced it.
If you're getting fuel, try to determine if you're getting spark at the plugs.
Hope this helps... a little.

Cant get started

if you say it is getting gas and is firing take spark plugs out it is probably flooded replace them with new plugs before re installing them let the spark plugs stay out for a hour so gas that is in cylinders may evaporate! and if you did flood it pull dip stick if strong gas odour is present you might want to change the oil most times when flooded all the gas runs down in crank case polluting the oil badly smart to change it once you get it running again good luck.
