I have a 2008 gran prix and the temp gage is not working

Ummmm it's a new car (fairly). So it should be under warranty right? Id go back to the dealer and have them look at it. Seriously. a 2008 shouldnt be giving u problems already, right?

Is something under your hood unplugged have you had any one working on it lately? look for wire unplugged in eng compartment

I had my 2006 grand prix fix 3 times for the tempature gage and stilss the gage goes over the 3 line


I think you should start thinking it might not be the gage itself but >Problem with the wires in the circuit itself Also warm car up take a thermometer & check coolant tempature cross referance with temp gauge in the car

2005 Pontiac Gran Prix 140000 miles. The engine icon on the face plate of the speedometer at the lower right came on, (Not the Check Engine light),. What would cause this icon to come on? I had it reset...


this one? That is the check engine light.

Sounds like you may have a code for insufficient engine operating tempurature. This is usually caused by a bad thermostat. Its pretty common to see this problem on newer GM vehicles. A new thermostat will take care of it 99% of the time.

To find the thermostat follow the upper hose to the engine. The thermostat will be behind the metal housing that the hose attaches to on the engine.

You may have a jacked up wire... or plug...this happen to me on my 2004 grand prix gtp 2 times...1 time one of my plugs was cracked the 2nd time my plug wire was laying on dip stick and started to melt....each time after replacing the plug and the wire it stopped misfiring...

Temp gage reads very low
