Question about 1988 Nissan 200SX

01 chevey suburban died while I was driving it

Engine just quit working. First I thought it was the battery, but after it sat for a sec, it started right back up, drove for another 2 min then did the same thing...over and over.

Honestly, I would say change the fuel filter that would be the first place I look. Because if the filter is clogged it could cause this. Basicly you drive it the dirt thats in the filter starts to form into a solid mass around the exit and prevents fuel from going through, then once it sits for a little while the dirt drifts apart. Then rinse and repeat......Its a 15 dollar part.

You haven't flooded the engine correct, check the spark plugs. Also, how fresh is the gas? Try shaking the car to get the gas mixed up and try cleaning out the cylinders with a torch to blow out excess gas. You should also either try cleaning the spark plugs or replace them if they look bad. It is starting up fine, correct? The alternator is good, right? I believe it is since it sounds like you didn't drive it long enough to drain the battery but check it anyway. By losing power, did the electronics start shutting off first or did the engine die first as this would show whether the alternator is bad or not. Please answer my questions and get back to me on what shut off first when it died and I will help you narrow down the problem with this car.

good luck

First question I always ask is, do you have a check engine light? If not, I would check the fuel pressure.

I have a 2001 Chevey Suburban 1500 V8. The fan knob does not work on settings 1, 2, or 3, but does on 4, 5, and 6. A/C works fine, blower works on the upper settings. Any thoughts on a fix?

there is a BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR located down towards the floor board on the passenger side under the kick panel... that resistor will... well.... lose resistance and only work on certain settings

Approx.50# fuel pressure at test port, engine will only start with starting fluid and then die.

I worked on a 1999 Suburban a couple weeks ago, it had good fuel pressure and spark but wouldn't run. No check engine light. It turned out the catalytic converters were plugged. After I took the exhaust pipes loose at the manifold it started right up. Just a thought.

Suburban dies at highway speed

It sounds like a fuel pump getting weak and hot. First check the ground wire at the fuel pump pigtail. and replace the fuel fiter.

Engine quits/difficulty starting 94 diesel suburban

i want to say that it sounds like the fuel solenoid closing . if the solenoid is going bad it will happen more frequently , if you have a cam sensor on that engine that would be the other possibilty .
