Question about 2000 Saturn SL
I own a 2001 SL2 series and recently it has been making a loud clunking noise whenever i stop and go and it shifts gears. my check engine light had even can on at one point my my uncles friend said it just needed to be reset, so he did something that made the light go off. ultimately, that didn't solve the problem. my car seems to drive well when i'm on the freeway doing over 50mph or driving at a steady pace. it's just when i come to a stop, then put my foot on the gas that it slips and clunks. and it only occurs when i'm below 50mph. please, what could the issue be and will it be and about how much would it cost to fix??
Take the car to a transmission specialist and check the engine mounts and then the transmission. It sounds very much like you have a transmission fault. if the trans requires rebuilding it could be as much as $1500.00 lets hope its external to the trans, but do not leave it get it checked.
