Question about 2000 Saturn SL

Clunking when car shifts!!

I own a 2001 SL2 series and recently it has been making a loud clunking noise whenever i stop and go and it shifts gears. my check engine light had even can on at one point my my uncles friend said it just needed to be reset, so he did something that made the light go off. ultimately, that didn't solve the problem. my car seems to drive well when i'm on the freeway doing over 50mph or driving at a steady pace. it's just when i come to a stop, then put my foot on the gas that it slips and clunks. and it only occurs when i'm below 50mph. please, what could the issue be and will it be and about how much would it cost to fix??

Take the car to a transmission specialist and check the engine mounts and then the transmission. It sounds very much like you have a transmission fault. if the trans requires rebuilding it could be as much as $1500.00 lets hope its external to the trans, but do not leave it get it checked.

My daughter's Saturn clunked when shifting, got to the point where it wouldn't go over 30 miles an hour. Transmission repair shops said $1500. Local mechanic said try Lucas transmission repair?/seal fluid. $7.99, I seem to remember. 15,000 miles later, car has 260,000 miles on it, transmission hasn't shifted this smoothly for 100,000 miles.

2001 Tahoe 4wd isn't engaging in 1,2,or 3rd or drive. It only goes forward when the gear shift is on reverse and when it starts to move it makes a loud clunk noise and grinding.

Not sounding to good. Sounds like you wiped out the planetary gears. Depending on the damage, your looking at $2000 rebuild.

I have the same exact problem as a previous post, so I'll just repost it after saying what I've done so far. I've changed the engine mounts and had a diagnostic run on my car as well. I had the trans fluid...

it sounds like differential problem which is the transmission these models burn bearnings inside the trans and causes damage interior check with scrap yards to see if you can find a good one probably not as well call a dealer near by it is a gm car and talk to tech advisor in shop to see if there is a miracle but before all that have the cv joints checked for loose or worn but i am going for the trans more because i did 4 in 6 month period the people were discouraged and junked the cars

2002 Chevy Silverado clunking noice when shift from 2wd to 4hi

It is somewhat Normal Depending on how Loud the Clunking is. This is a Common Complaint on the Chevy 4x4's. I have verified this through the Dealerships here in Oklahoma and they all say the Same thing But, I am with you, They should go into 4x4 without that Clunk for as much as we pay for them.
