Over the last year after having my emergency brake adjusted the ABS light comes on, goes off & then comes on and stays on after I touch the brake pedal. Somes days I can drive 2-3 miles before it comes on. Not using any brake fluid thru all this. Brakes are great, will throw you the windshield if your not used to it. It has a 2.9L engine.

have you check? the master cylinder. sometine when you get the rotors cut they dont come out right because they may be warped or to thin. if you did the job yourself you might have put the calipers in on the wrong side. this happens alot . if your rotors front and rear are fine then switch the calipers to the other side.

I would bypass abs contraption with new line.(87 dually) abs located under drivers side cab looks very susceptible and is known to fail.I would trust my foot before that old thing.Im rippin it out of my truck & replacing it with new line all the way back.Old lines rusted pretty bad.Better safe than sorry.unplug light bulb or just leave it in .Jersey cant say anything if its 94 or older at inspection.that goes for all the lights. For me,older is better.I dont know what setup you have or if you sold it, you could try replacing it for about 160 at advanced.I hope its not the computer screwin up,thats probably a dealer item.Try unpluging hydraulic unit for shits & giggles.Go over rear brakes again before you start cutting.

wait till it goes on again and go to your local pepboys, autobarn autozone rand s etc they usually offer free computer diagnostics, get me the codes, i cn help you then,
Whenever
this warning light or any other stays on in the dash it is indicating
that the systems control module (or the system sensor in the case of
lights like low oil pressure, door open indicators etc.) has detected
a fault, it then disables the system (this applies to ABS,TCS, TCM,
SRS and BCM faults and others) as long as the light is on. You must
now have the dealer hook up a special electronic diagnostic tool and
"scan" the system for the fault code that is stored for the
problem(s)
Legend of Abbreviations. ABS Antilock brake system.TCS Traction control system, TCM Transmission control module, SRS Supplemental restraint system, BCM Body control module

At one time I owned 5 Bronco II (86-87-88) and I experienced the same light on-off problem. Since braking occurs 85% with the front wheels I disabled the rear ABS by unplugging the the module on the side panel behind the driver's seat. I have noticed no difference in the car's braking ability. [email protected]
