I need to know how to replace the heater core. I know where it's located but need details on how to take it out.

Hello Heather
never ceases to amaze me the jobs that young ladies will take on this site. Way to go!

Drain Coolant. Remove hose, remove fixing screws and replace.

Fill coolant system, run to full heat, squeeze radiators hoses with gloves on to burp the system and get rid of air. Leave to cool and top up.

Google
make model replace heater core
almost certainly you will find a YouTube video.

Heater core

2.3l, 4 cyl.
If you need to replace the heater core it's really easy. Maybe 30 mins if you know what your doing. Remove the hoses (truck cold) from the heater core in the engine compartment (reclaim excess coolant that comes out). Remove screws from the passenger compartment fire wall area (inside), remove and reinstall heather core. Replace lost coolant. It's that simple.

What is a blend door on my jeep cherakee sport

this is a small door to control the hot air coming from the heather core to inside room on every vehicle including yours if this part is broken you could get no hot air from your heather or if this part is stuck open you get hot air all the time even with the heather off

Heater core

I believe this model heater core is located at the lower passenger side of the dash and can be removed without removing the dash. Check your firewall side under the hood for the heater hoses and it will give you an idea of where its located on the inside of the car. Hope this helps Chris

Heater does not work

Could be the heater core went bad, heather core lines are plugged, cover on the blower motor is off, or if your temp selector is cable, the cable may have seized

Coolant boils, over heats, not the head gasket or water pump. Had some wet on passanger carpet. Hear liquid swishing????

If the carpet is wet on the passenger side then it is most likely the Heater Core that is leaking and needs to be replaced. The heather core is located just above the passnger floor under the dash.

The AC works but not the heather

more than likely your heater core is clogged. try getting a coolant flush done on your vehicle. if that does not work, replace the heater core. if that does not work than it probably is the thermostat.
