Sorry, i had someone that used my name on here he thinks he knows it all.... Sounds to me like you are talking about the crank sensor which is on the pass side under the first sparkplug it has 2 13 mm bolts that hold it in, if it is not there then your truck more then likely will not start, or if is does you will have oil all over the engine.there are numerous sensors in the engine so if this does not help, goto pepboys or autozone or any auto part store for that matter and pick yourself up the haynes manual for the truck.

If you can't get one from the dealer, I would try a salvage yard.
The pull your own parts lots should let you buy one cheap. They will sell you the complete door for about $50.

I cannot find the crankshaft sensor on my lincoln ls 2004 v6 i have been looking by my ac compressor is that right

Passenger Side, centerline of crankshaft, just behind crank
damper pulley, in block

I do not know why you asked !

But unless you probe it with an oscilloscope,
I would assume it is okey

Don't go switching any parts in hope of fixing something

If you don't understand a system or a part & how to test
it,go to some who does

Hello i have a 2000 durango 4.7 and my ac only works on one speed. when i put it higher or lower it shuts off. do you know where my resistor is located. i keep hearing different areas

Hello John---On the 2000 Durango the resistor should be directly underneath the passenger side glove box. So if you look directly up from underneath the passenger floor, you should see the long skinny rectangular wiring harness with one -8mm screw on each end...A 1/4" drive ratchet with extension and swivel joint will make it easier to reach and remove. A new resistor is a dealer item only i believe, that costs about $18...I hope this helps...good luck with your Durango.

Where exactly is a crank sensor located on a 4,7 2000 dodge durango\r\npictures would help

It is located on the lower engine block on the passenger side towards the flywheel...On the 4.7L V8, if your standing in front of the car, follow the exhaust manifold down to where it starts to go under the car, that is where the sensor is located, under the car. You will have to crawl under and remove it. It is held on with a single bolt with a 3 pin electronic connector on top. The sensor itself is pretty much just a magnet. It will be close to where the transmission mounts to the engine.
Hope this helps.
