New water pump, but now s70 is overheating faster

Who did the job? If you did it it privately, possible you did not do the whole job. You have to bleed the system for air comes out of the cooling system, also check if the timing belt is correct fitted. And last check if the cooling fan is working.

Troubleshooting power steering after pump, rack &pinion have been replaced

I would say you have a defective power steering pump since the rack is replaced. You did bleed the air out right? Raise the front wheels off the ground and slowly turn the wheels left to right and see if the air is bled out of the system. There is not "reset button"

Need instructions for power steering pump replacement on a 1992 pontiac trans sport. FAST PLEASE!!! has a 3.8L engine with a/c. thankyou for your help!

-- from the 1990-1999 Lumina / Silhouette / TranSport Repair manual ---

1992 Pontiac TransPort Power Steering Pump REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect and cap the power steering pump hoses.
  3. Remove the accessory drive belt.
  4. Remove the power steering pump pulley using a suitable puller tool.
  5. Remove the pump mounting bolts and remove the pump from the vehicle.

See Figures 1, 2 and 3

Fig. Fig. 1: On some vehicles, you must use a puller to remove the power steering pump pulley

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure. Tighten the pump mounting bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
  2. Bleed the power steering system to remove trapped air. Air in the system could cause noise and or damage to the pump.

BLEEDING

This procedure requires the help of an assistant.
  1. With the engine OFF, the wheels off the ground and turned all the way to the left, fill the fluid reservoir to the FULL COLD mark on the fluid level indicator.
  2. With an assistant checking the fluid level and condition, bleed the system by turning the wheels from side to side without hitting the stops. You should repeat this at least 20 times, making sure to keep the fluid level at the FULL COLD mark.

Fluid with air in it has a light tan appearance. This air must be eliminated from the fluid before normal steering action can be obtained.
See Figure 4

Fig. Fig. 4: Power steering bleeding procedure

  1. Start the engine, and while it is idling, recheck the fluid level and add as necessary to reach the FULL COLD mark.
  2. Return the wheels to the center position. Lower the front wheels to the ground and continue running the engine for 2 or 3 minutes.
  3. Road test the vehicle to make sure the steering functions properly and is free of noises.

Where is fuel filter located for 1992 volvo 240

Hi, it is located with the fuel pump under the drivers side of the car. It rests on a plate that also has the fuel pump attached to it. Undo the bolts holding the plate to the bottom of the car and you will see that it is very easy to replace.

1992 volvo 240 timing belt replacement

timimg belts usually don't make noise, they break and the motor stops!! The noise could be coming from a bad water pump, powersteering pump, air compresser, alternater, leaky exhaust, leaky vacume lines. Check them out. Or, I don't know the condition of the engin. Has it been neglected and are the bearing going? More history would be helpful.

How to bypass the A/C clutch-compressor and drive the power steer

It can be done. But, its alot of work and you will need a new bracket for the PS pump. As bad as it sounds, it will be much easier and cheaper if you just replace the AC clutch or compressor. Try to find a used one at a junckyard. Its a very silly design.
