i have not been able to locate the relay. i looked in the box under the dash to the left of the steering column and the only thing in there is a 30amp metal fuse with green on th end (2 prong). i have not been able to locate a 3 prong relay that has anything to do with the seats. any other suggestions?

Near the fuse panel in the car there is a relay which is known to go in those vehicles it is a cheap part about $10.00 and a two minute fix try replacing it im 99% sure it will work. the relay is on the left side of the panel and about the size of a bottle cap it will be blue or gray pull it and put in the new one will all three tabs aligned.

My local Chevy/GMC dealership's parts department has no knowledge of the relay you are describing. Do you have a part number or name? I see a grey rectangular part that says something about doors on it... is that what you are referring to?

2003 gmc yukon xl

Sorry to get your hopes up but I have a similar problem with my 2005 Yukon Denali. How long does the truck stay running before it shuts down? Mine started out with short spurts of the truck shutting down while driving. It slowly progressed to the point where it will only run for about 45 seconds. Originally the truck would sputter the gauges would die and then the truck would die. It slowly progressed to the point where it only runs for 45 seconds and there is no signs before hand. Does any of this happen to your vehicle? I have checked all of my cables and the main ground wires. Along with changing a few of the relays. Nothing has helped. My problem started with an electrical component heating up and quitting. Now it doesn't matter how hot it is in only runs for a couple seconds.

Power lumbar not working in buick rainier

The drive nut may have broken loose or just broke. Short of opening the seat upholstery there is not much that can be done. At least since you are hearing the motor, the wiring should fine. It uses the same fundamentals as the seat positioning mechanism uses.

An upholstery shop might be your best bet to get the upholstery covering off intact with minimal damage so the mechanism itself can be reworked/repaired and seat frame repaired as needed.

The problem with cleaning solvents or spray lubricants is the potential for the foam seat form to get damaged- or worse- permanent smell.

Driver side heated seats keep coming on when they want to, on my 2005 Chevy Suburban Z71. They get really hot. I have found that if you leave the base of the seat on the low seating then the back or lumbar...

The problem could be the drivers seat module. It is under the seat and controls the drivers seat functions. There is a service bulletin for seats that will only work for a few minutes and then shut off by themselves. The fix for this is having the drivers seat module reprogrammed but I don`t know if your problem would fall in this bulletin.Only the dealerships can program these modules.Hope this helps.Good luck.

03 h2 heated seat problem

Check the wires under the seat sometimes they frae when moving the seat back and forth.

Also they will auto turn off it is getting to hot or a wire inside the seat is contacting another wire so check where you can for bad contact.

Hope this helps

My 2004 yukon's heated seats will not stay on. The button lights up for a few seconds and then turns off. This happens on both the drivers and passenger side.

Mine did that forever, but started working after the instrument cluster was replaced. It started to show 100 mph in a parking lot. Dealer replaced it for free, and now every little quirk seems to have disappeared, including the heated seats. They are very nice lately. Damn cold here.

My driver side seat heater button only stays on for a few seconds and then goes off. What could it be?

You need to get your seat heater module reprogrammed. This can be done at the dealership. The bulletin number is 05-08-50-008.This is a bulletin not a recall.GOOD LUCK.

Heated seats won't stay on in 2004 GMC Yukon Denali

See GM TSB 05-08-143-001, If you have Adjustable pedals, especially if they don't work with the memeory buttons, but function with thier own buttons. Its the Brake Pedal Position Sensor is shorted and mesing up the seat module which controls the heaters too. My 05 Suburban had the same issue

Rough idle / varying oil pressure when accelerating

Ok not to keen on newer vehicles actually prefer the carburated ones, but oil pressure is supposed increase on your gauge when accelerating. If it wasn't going up before and just staying at 40 the needle might have been stuck. But idle should be 40 lbs and when you work the moter (reving or driving down the road) the guage should show an increase for every 1000 rpm above idle. Second if you can get a hand held scanner (bought mine off ebay for $30) check for any codes in your computer you will probably find that you either have a bank running wrong or some other sensor that needs to be changed. I'd go with getting my own scanner it saves alot of money and time, garages make their money here.

Rear heat in 2004 gmc yukon blows only cold air when turned to heat. driver heated seat button lights up for only a few seconds and turns off.

I have a 2006 yukon and have had to replace the actuator in the rear heat/ac twice.  It moves a valve that closes the cold/hot ducts.  It is a cheap defective part/design.
