Replacing Murano 2005 seat with 2004-wiring harness different
Trying to use wiring harness from 2005 Murano to fit into a 2004 Murano (the 2005 seat is broken). The wiring pins are different all throughout, though the seat bolts perfectly into car and controlls "look" the same.

P0340 2005 Nissan Murano - Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit
Possible causes- Faulty Camshaft Position Sensor-
Camshaft Position Sensor harness is open or shorted- Camshaft Position Sensor circuit poor electrical connection- Faulty starter motor- Starting system circuit-
Dead (Weak) battery
P1701- Fuel trim
I would suggest replacing the camshaft position sensor. When the sensor fails it can cause changes in fuel system that the computer can detect. So I suspect once the camshaft sensor ivreplaced that the P1701 code will be gone. Cam Position Sensor Replacement Nissan Murano 3 5L
if your vehicle came with a heated seat option then ya it should be plug & play if the seats are from a different vehicle it might not work do your research before making the purchase on those seats />
That is a real hard question to answer. Are you talking about REPLACING a power passenger seat? or are you talking about installing a power passenger seat in a vehicle that was not originally equipped with a power passenger seat?
The latter would be a MAJOR undertaking. The seats are controlled by the computer, so any addition of seats would require reprogramming of the computer to handle the extra seat. Also, I am not sure if the wiring harnesses would be there. t is possible that the wiring harnesses are already present, but I would have to see the vehicle to verify that.
Then there's the cost of the seat itself. Where do you intend to get one? The cheapest way would be to find a vehicle in a salvage yard with power passenger seat that has the same interior trim codes as your vehicle. (So the upholstery will match) The other option is to order a NEW seat from Ford...VERY EXPENSIVE! Probably around $700. This is just for the seat and does not include the price of installation labor and reprogramming.
Now, if you are talking about replacing an existing power seat, I have to ask this: Why are you replacing it? Is there something wrong with it that makes it not worth repairing?
Yes,if the wiring is not the same, you will have to either find different
wire harnesses that fit, or last but least, have someone good with
electric, find the power wire from the old harness, and get it wired into
the new seats to power them up. Good luck.
The Murano came with a secondary start wire that seldom is hooked up as it requres a relay & someone to actually take the time to completely wire a seperate "Hot" feed to the starter. This is listed in the Murano wiring chart, I know as I have & just set mine up.
I've included the warning:
Here's the link to the wiring diagram with the specific warning:
2 bolts in each of the seats' floor rails... total of 8. Wire harness connectors may not be the same power seat control harness, seat heaters, etc. Research of connectors shows floor harness connectors are identical between 04 & 05. However, optional features like seat warmers in the wire harness of the 05 model may not exist in the other and vise versa.
