SOURCE: cylinder no. 4 misfire mitsubishi galant 2003

first make sure its getting a good spark if it is check to make sure the injector is working if both are ok you will need to do a leak-down test to determine the loss of compression

SOURCE: 2001 mitsu galant V6, misfire in #1cylinder

check fuel injectors, fuel pressure regulator, air filter. cat converter, O2 sensor. failure of any of these wastes fuel. air/fuel ratio should be normal.

The timing belt on my 2003 galant broke. A shop is saying they can replace the head while another shop said I need a new engine. Do I definitely need a new engine? Can I get away w/ just fixing the heads?...

4 or 6 cylinder? you say "heads" so I assume its a V6? A interference engine does NOT require a new engine. unless upon disassembly there is severe piston damage. A 2003 Galant isn't going to be worth putting in a $ 2500-3000 new engine. A car that has had scheduled service usually doesn't break the belt, its replaced long before that happens. Yes, you can take the heads off and get it serviced, new valves etc. On a V6 you also want to replace the water pump.

I have a 2003 mitsubishi galant, 4 cyl. whenever i take off it goes really slow like it doesnt want to change gears. (automatic) i had the trans checked & they said it's ok. could it be a fuel...

I have a similar problem...when at a stop it jerks in hesitation sometime feeling as if it wants to stall. It also does this when accelerating from stop...it has completely stalled out once when accelerating after switching from reverse to drive, but started right away.

Have a 2000 mits galant-4 cy- misfire on cylinder 2 -Is there a way to check it or test- have already changed out wires connected to ignition coil.

You can buy a coil tested from advanced auto for 10 dollars to identify the spark. Have you checked compression?
