Question about 1996 Kia Sephia

1 Answer

We have been trying for a week now to take out the drive axle on a 96 Kia Sephia. Could not do it, took it to a mechanic out where we live, he tried for 6 hours to get it out and also could not do it. He even removed the passenger side to try to push it out, no go. Something about the drive axle and the transmission with the left cv axle. On a lighter note since he could not do it he only charged us $35 as he felt bad for it being our only transportation.

We will give this a try. Will still accept any more solutions. I had someone say get a slide hammer and a steel cable and it would come off with no problems, I paid for that answer and came no closer after another 8 hours of getting it off. I will be thankful for any and all solutions to this problem. Thank you as this was our only running vehicle till this problem.

Can a 2000 kia sephia transmission be removed without taking the transaxles and exhaust line off?

when in doubt , thank politely and go some where else to an accredited service shop that has experience on your make of vehicle
on assembly the power train ( engine and transmission) is on a stand and the body is lowered down over it and all of the subframe bolts are screwed in
so yes it is possible to remove the power train complete but as that would be the quick way to do it
I suspect that something more sinister is afoot
did you get a detailed explanation of the transmission problem or axle problem or was it just "you need a new " comment

if your talking about the main axle bolt then you can buy a breaker bar and a large socket but you still have to almost stand on the breaker bar or you can buy an impact wrench cheap at any pawn shop.

I have taken everything apart on the right side but can't get the axle to come out of the tranny. What is the best way to get it to come loose. 2001 Kia Sephia with auto trans, right side. thanks

Sometimes these axles are tough to remove, sometimes you may have to tap the outside of the axle with either a brass hammer or rubber mallet (as not to damage the outer part of the axle) adthen try and pull out the axle shaft. You may also have to try pry bar behind the axle shaft (where it goes into the transmission) and slightly pry out away from the transmission to release the ring lip that holds it in place inside the transmission. Hope this helps.

1996 Kia Sephia wont start

What means half juice ? If is about level, it means almost dry, so change it. If means amperage (tested by an cranking amperage tester), is not enough, so change it.
