1995 pontiac bonneville stalls

My 1995 pontiac bonneville stalls while driving and the rpm gauge jumps all over the place, it starts fine and idles fine, sometimes while driving it dies but starts right back up?1996 bonneville that stalls after idling for a minute or two or when letting off the accelerator and coming to a stop. Never stalls during acceleration. After the staff, restarts but problem repeats. You here a ding, ding, ding and the car dies like you just turned off the key. Replaced idle air control, camshaft sensor, crankshaft sensor and cleaned mass airflow sensor. No change.

Do the scanner you can borrow from the car parts houses allow the relearning of the iac?

You have on here a 95 and a 96 bonneville? which is it or do you have two? one thing that would need to be done is have the iac relearned this is done with a scan tool and it will cause the car to shut off when you let off accelerator.

no that is basically a code reader. another good possibility could be the ignition module it can cause the problems your stating.it is near impossible to guess the problem without seeing the data and what is going on

There may be lots of reasons a car stalls at intersections, but one that most people wouldn't think of is low automatic transmission fluid levels. Be sure to check the fluid when parked on a level surface. Do your best to not allow any lint or dirt to contaminate the dip stick before reinserting.
While not directly related, maintenance cycles for replacing transmission fluid and filter vary, but should be performed as suggested by the vehicle maker. Paying for a power flush may be worth it if you can afford it, but it's not essential. The most important part is changing it on schedule. The 5% of residue left behind will mean your 95% new fluid is being put to work.
Your gas may contain too much moisture. A clear plastic approved gas container filled and let sit for a few minutes, or upto 24 hours will collect moisture at the bottom (water is more dense then fuel). Name brand Heat and similar additives can evaporate water from the fuel. In some infrequent circumstances, a distributor coil may be cracked. A clogged, dirty or old fuel filter or fuel pump can be another cause. good luck

2001 pontiac bonneville SSEi 3.8 l supercharged. The car runs smooth for 15-30 min then stalls out. And when you attempt to restart it starts and idles up and down. And dies after 30 sec. With no check...

I have a 2000 Bonneville - I had a problem with the car stalling out - then it did not want to start back up. (When it did it would idle up and down and then die) I changed out the mass air flow sensor - now I have not had a problem. Good luck with it.

1995 pontiac bonneville stalls

I just went through lots of troubleshooting and expense on my 1996. Whenever I would lift my foot off the accelerator and was below about 30 mph, the rpm's would starts jumping around and sometimes it would stall. If I gave it a little gas (accelerator), I could sometimes keep it running. It also backfired once in a while. Starts right back up. Also, if I let it idle while in part, it would die after 1-2 minutes.

I ended up finding a hole in the fuel regulator. About a ~$70 part if you get an AC Delco, but very simple to change.
