Get all the heater plugs checked
also check the fuel line from tank to pump if there is any small leak all the fuel goes back to tank after shuting off the engine or do the pumping manually with hand pump on the fuel filter before starting the engine if it is hard there is no leak in the fuel line

Starters getting really hot, why?

In simple terms, the starter gets hot from a high amount of voltage flowing thru it.
The why part is another thing.
Could be a bad connection between the starter and the battery including the ground. Could be a problem with the engine not wanting to turn over. For example, if you broke a timing belt the engine may lock up.

Sounds like the timing is off and valves need adjustments.

I have a problem with my bmw 325td. i had it parked up for a while in the garage and the battery went completly flat. i tried to jump start it but when i turn the key the engine will not fully turn over....

hi, you need to get a good battery if yours is to flat then even using jump leads then this wont put enough power into your battery to allow it to start, what you need to do is take your battery off the car but dont close the boot with the battery off as you wont open it again if the car is locked its best you leave the car unlocked and then give your battery a full charge over night.

Or replace the battery with a new one you should find that your car will start with no problems after doing this

Never take the cable off when running. Its so hard on the voltage reg. And the alternator. Take the alternator and get it tested free at auto-zone or O rilleys. they test mine free all the time. Hope this is helpfull .. Sawdust46

I had this problem when I bought my 325td. When the fuel level got below 1/2 tank, it began to **** air through the fuel lines. Turns out it needed a new fuel pump. Wasn't a big problem to fix, just got a new filter (I think from eurocarparts) and changed it under the backseat.

Hope it helps.
