I have a mecury montego that wont turn over, the batt is good and the starter. it sonds like it wants to turn over but its acting like it has no fuel when it does, do u think you can help me figure out whats going on, maybe fuel filter in clogged from water cause its cold?
I had the same situation....1. Apparently any major jolt to the car will actuate the electric fuel pump shut down system. This system is designed to turn off the fuel pump in case of an accident. I have had a trusted and good mechanic tell me that even the speed bumps in large parking areas....such as Wal Mart.....can actuate the fuel pump shutdown system.
2. Solution: At the glove compartment, down and to the right there is a "reset button" to re-activate the fuel system. It is very important to use the manual that came with the car and follow it when resetting this system.
3. I reset mine and followed the manual and have had no more problems.
