Question about 1997 Honda Accord
I have honda accord EX V6 2002 model, and i dont trust what honda
recomended change oil 5W20 or 5W30,I used 15W40 what your opinion
I live in Vancouver B.C.-Canada.What about syntetic 5W40 or 5W30
Pfboyd is right. The old school thinking was that the thicker the oil, the better it is for the bearings. But, the car makers are doing a much better job of building motors to spec, and the oil quality has made considerable strides as well. I would not hesitate to use the recomended oil viscosity from the manufacturer.

You want to use the 5w20 for best fuel efficiency and easier cold starts especially in bc. multiweight oil has made great strides in the years past. also synthetic oil is a good alternative but you should also use the manufacturer's recommended viscosity. the thinner oil also allows better lubrication on smaller passageways.
