How to replace the ignition key in my 2005 bmw 645ci

I have a 645ci BMW (2005).

planning to buy a new ignition key to replace the one I have as it is very loose and sometimes difficult to turn the key once in.

wanted to know the procedure for replacing it.

This can be very difficult to do you must make sure the baterry for the vehicle is disconnected you must remove the casing around the location of the ignition key barrel and there should be a few little pins holding the cylinder in itself with a plug attached be advised though some vehicles with electronic keys may crank over but not run without reprogramming the computer because the car may read the new key set up as someone trying to steal the car just make sure the battery is unhooked this is very important

u need a new key or its the ignition its self if u go to the dealer ship u can buy a new ignition and the key comes with it or u can try a new key but if u buy a key its just as expensive as duying the whole ignition

I have a 2005 645CI... THE VIDEO MODULE KEEPS SAYING BMW, IT DOESNT CONVERT TO THE MENU... IN OTHER WORDS THE CAR'S COMPUTER IS NOT WORKING... NO NAVI, NO ENTERTAINMENT, NO COMMUNICATION OPTIONS I CNT DO...


That might happen if you replaced your own car battery. The new battery voltage has to be regulated to the cars electronics when putting in a new battery. BMW says there the only ones that can do it and it cost 700 for battery and install. Otherwise the sensitive electronics in the car go bye, bye then its major money to fix.
