Question about 1995 Oldsmobile Aurora

Accessories not shutting off, upon exit of car.

When I open either the driver or the front passenger door, on my 95' Aurora, the system does not recognize that the door is open, I have to open one of the back doors for the accessories to turn off.

    Thanks 12volt, that is what I thought too, but alas the Aurora does not use a pin switch.  Believe it or not, it uses the locking mechanism to tell weather it's open or not.  I know it's different, and I've looked all over for a pin switch, but, on the back door, when I was looking for it, I tried sticking my finger in the lock mechanism, to get it to pretend the door was closed, and voila, the lights went off.  I tried it on the front, and NOTHING!  Now, this problem is going to take expertise, or a 5th of crown, maybe both!

Sounds like your "pin switch" in the door jamb is either bad or stuck. This is the switch that the car uses to tell the door has been opened. Does the light inside the car light up when you open the drivers door? if not, it is definately the door pin switch. should be a 10-20 dollar part at any gm dealer.

Open the passenger door and see if the radio shuts off, if it does you need to replace the door ajar sensor on the drivers side inside the door attached to the door latch. This situation is caused by a system called delayed exit, that means that the cars electrical system stays on until a door is opened.

probably a bad or dirty door switch on drivers door, this can also effect interior lights not coming on when door is open

Is there a fuse for the window switch


Which window switch ? RT DOOR CB-circuit breaker , do you know what a circuit breaker is ? 25A (System power for right rear window)
LT DOOR CB 25A (System power for left rear window
The power window system will operate anytime the retained accessory power (RAP) system is active or when the ignition switch is in the ACCY or ON position.
The DDM contains 4 power window switches which are integral components. Closing any of the normally open, rocker type switches provides the DDM with a request for power window operation. The switches for the 2 front windows have 3 positions Up, Down and Express Down, while the switches for the rear windows have only 2 positions, Up and Down. Each of these switches and their positions is a direct input into the DDM. Upon receiving a request for power window operation, the DDM, transmits a class 2 message indicating the switch and it's changed position.
The PDM contains a single power window switch that is an integral component. Closing of this normally open, rocker switch provides the PDM with a request for the front passenger power window operation. The switch for the front passenger window has 2 positions Up and Down. Each of these switch positions is a direct input to the PDM.
The 2 rear passenger doors have there own switches. Each of the switches contain a power window up and down relay. A switch activation alone can control the up and down functions of the rear windows. However the BCM, upon receiving a class 2 message from the DDM, can control the set of relays which will activate the rear window motors.


The power window system consists of the following components:

Doors not opening even if they are unlocked


My 2009 Sebring does the same thing occasionally but only the drivers door gets stuck (dead locked - even though the locks appear to pop up).
The solution I have found once this happens is:
1) The car needs to be driven (crawl in thru the passenger door) -even just a short distance
2) Engine shut off & doors locked with remote (after you've exited from the passenger door of course)
3) Leave turned off for 10 minutes
4) Doors will now open when unlocked with the remote

This Van has a system in it called delayed exit, this means the radio and other accessories stay on for a time as long as none of the doors are opened, when the door is opened the module senses that switch in the door is activated and shuts everything off. The easy way to test this is open the passenger door, if all shuts off you found the problem, the driver door switch is defective. the switch is attached to the door lock inside the door.

When i switch off the car and remove key , cd,radio still on,and also the bottoms of window working durango 2006 switch off the car remove key but cd,radio still on (not switch off )+ the windows


This problem is caused by a defective door ajar switch, this is what most call a "Dome light switch" Your vehicle has a function called "delayed exit", this means the accessories stay powered up until one of the doors is opened and the Body Control Module senses it and turns off the power to all the accessories like the radio, windows etc. To verify this open the passenger door, the system should shut off.

Radio will not turn off


U have a driver door defective courtesy light switch, this sytem has what is called delyed exit, it keeps all the accessories on until one of the door is opened, driver or passenger front will turn it off, so if the passenger front door shuts the radio off u need to replace the switch.

All power door locks lock except the driver side front door


On my jetta, if you don't lock the doors with the remote then all doors lock except the drivers door. try this
1. closing all doors walk around to the passenger door.
2.open the door, using the button on the passenger door, lock the doors.

I had this happen to me on my jetta and found you could lock all the doors if you did'nt use the drivers door or you locked using the remote. They did this to keep the driver from locking the keys in the car. I hope this worked for you

95 olds aurora interior lights dont come on anymore


Replace fuse under the back seat. Look in your manual, look in the fuse section and it will tell you which fuse it is exactly
