so we are talking about a tbi system or carburator , if so 16 psi is low running pressure for tbi should be 45 to 50 psi key on

Engine light comes on heat blowed cold air and car runs hot and wont crank now

Number 1: get the code; even if they light turns off an on, the code will be stored in the computer.

It sounds like you could have a variety of issues and more information needs to be given. How is the car running? Does it run & idle perfectly or does it stumble?

My 1988 ford bronco full size has problems starting in the cold. the tps might be the problem as the ohms reading doesn't vary when the throttle is moved, but I don't have other symtoms. when the weather...

replace TPS, when air is cold more gets in when hot less gets in. it may not be getting air fuel mix correct. also run codes to see if any other parts show to be failing or failed.

1988 Ford ranger 2wd 2.9 5 spd fuel mileage issue

this may be a correction the computer has done to make the system run as expected. the computers recheck themselves for faults and EPA regulations. this would be due to high mileage.
something to look for may be an intake leak in the manifold, as the engine will adjust itself to the extra air and not set a fault as the leak would not be big enough.
