Sounds like the contacts in the headlight switch have gone bad.. the switch needs to be replaced - I have seen this more than once...usually due to someone installing "high performance" headlight bulbs that pull additional current causing the light switch to "fry" over time.
first do yourself a favor, and test the bulb from one headlight, just to make sure the bulbs arent both burned out.

have you checked the fusible link in the under hood fuse box for the headlights? if the parking lights still work, that doesnt mean that it is still getting power for the headlight circuit... check all fuses, in the truck, and in the engine compartment.

I have a 99 Dodge Durango all other lights work on a car set my low beam headlights how do I fix that

Problem can be in the multifunction switch on the steering column (lever that selects high/low beam and turn signals), in the headlight switch itself, in the Timer Control Module (TCM, also called BCM - body control module), or in the wiring.
Get a wiring diagram and start troubleshooting! Good luck.

Headlights blink on and off

You have a bad connection or a bad earth on the lights themselves. This can cause higher resistance in the switch. It may also be that the switch itself is faulty, and I would change that first and then work towards the headlights themselves.

My durango headlight will not work on the right side

Well the turn signals are a different circuit.
Usually the common problem with one headlight is the ground circuit.
Both the high and low beam use the same ground. I would check for power for each circuit and a good ground at the light socket.

My headlights are both out. I was having trouble with them before they went out. The high beams sometimes would turn themselves on and the headlights would turn themselves on when the car was off. I...

Although it is feasible that the aftermarket lights burnt the sockets, that would not cause the lights to turn on by themselves - a faulty switch would cause that. Inspect the wires that plug into the headlights - if they are not melted or burnt then they don't need replacing. I think you should go elsewhere for a second opinion - just to be sure you got an honest one the first time. Some shops replace everything as a general rule - not because it all needs replacement, but because they make more money on the job. I don't work for a shop like that and feel that is the wrong attitude to have - money is too tight for that!
Hope this helps!!

2001 Dodge Durango, headlights flicker

I had a similar problem on my 2001 Caravan. Turned out to be a loose connection between the frame control module and the fuse box. I unscrewed the frame/front control module from the fuse box and bent the tabs slightly to make better contact. Then tighten down the module securley. Need star driver to loosen screws
