I have a 1987 dodge ramcharger

It is having a problem with getting spark to the plugs i have replaced the coil, rotar and cap. A friend told me it is probly the ECU so i bought a manual for it but it shows the ECU being on the right side inner fender wall but mine does not have one there i looked everywhere in the engine bay is there another place it could be? I am stumped. Or maybe a quick way to bypass i ran a hot wire from the battery to the coil and still nothing.

I Barrel carb ? Take a closer look, Is there something stuck in the middle of that one barrel, like maybe an injector ? What name can you find on side of carb?

Just to confirm, it is fuel injected correct? In around that year, was when Carbs were replaced with fuel injection, just want to be sure what we're looking at here.

set timing on1987 dodge ramcharger 8 degrees BTDC (Before Top Dead Center) ..Each spark plug must fire 8 degrees before each piston reaches TDC (Top Dead Center).. This only holds true when the engine is at idle speed.. I hope this helps you set your timing.....

87 dodge ramcharger not firing

Pull the coil wire out of center of distributor cap and lay it close to where you unpluged it from distributor cap, and turn over engine if coil is good you will see the spark jump. If no spark coil bad.
