What engine does yours have ? 3.8 or 4.6 Do you have a professional type scanner that will show sensor data parameters ? Is the check engine light on ,or anyother light's ? Wrench symbol .
012 Idle Speed Problems Idle Speed Wrong I know yours only dies when put into gear , idles fine in park an neutral . Just showing what scan data is , if your not familiar with it. With the problem your having it's a necessity to have a scan tool that can view data pid's . You could spend a lot of buck's just replacing part's on recommendations from people on here . Testing an not guessing is the way to find the problem .

At idle, why does speedometer show about 5 or 6 miles per hour and the odometer shows the mileage going up while sitting still?

Could be a bad instrument panel(IP). Rough idle in gear could be a vacuum leak. Maybe a tune up.

Engine stslls while driving usualy starts back up. now wont start .have fuel, new throttle position sensor, idle air control, sounds like pump is getting, help????

you don`t say how you know it has fuel. did you check the fuel pressure with a gage and did you check the fuel volume as well. this sounds like a fuel pump problem.

What is causing my 93 mark 8 to stall at idle

I had a problem with both the speedometer and odometer in a Lincoln. It may also have an effect on the engine operation. My speedometer showed 45mph standing still and miles were rolling up on the odometer.

For me, it was a bad Alternator. The alternator was shorting out through the case. You should have your alternator checked and if you find out it is good, then the problem is something that is charging the car body.

You are getting a stray current that is messing up your dash and engine controls. You may have a power wire which rubbed through its insulation.

No check engine, stalls cold start, dies after warm

If you haven't done it already you might have them run it for codes to see if it is showing any. Autozone does it for free too.

Have 2003 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD. My dashboard went out only showing 2 2 where miles and odometer reading is

It could have went out, but you might check plug, or grounds. If just the odometer and speed quit, you could have a bad vehicle speed sensor in the transmission

Start with the idle needle screw first, the idle mixture screw. Seat it all the way in, first-don't overtighten and damage it, just seat it lightly, and back out two full turns. Run the engine and set the adjustment by ear to get your best lean idle: start turning the screw in (clockwise) 1/8 or 1/4 turn at a time till engine stumbles, dies, or runs rough. Keep the engine running, and turn screw out (counterclockwise) a little at a time till you hear the idle dropping. Now between those two settings is your best lean idle. Turn the screw in, a little at a time and wait for engine to respond, tiill you get the highest idle speed. Now set the other idle screw, curb idle, to the idle setting for your truck, probably about 700 rpm. You can move back and forth between the screws to get the best steady idle. Just don't over do it on the idle mixture screw.
Good luck.

I have an 2000 alero. It has had problems for weeks now by dying in a turn right or even left. It has also died with pulling up in a turn lane or @ the top of a hwy. off ramp. I have noticed fluctuations...

Not knowing exactly what engine you have, I will tell you this much. You'll have an IAC (idle air control) valve on the side of your throttle body, with an electrical connector on it. Not TP sensor that is on end of throttle shaft. The IAC keeps the idle up when engine is under load conditions, such as power steering load when turning, AC turns on etc. They either get dirty on shaft and pintle (pointed part inside throttle body) or just get worn out and don't catch engine to boost idle as required. If you remove it and clean it with throttle body spray cleaner or similar, and spray cleaner in the hole (port) it came out of, you may get it back working ok. If it works good for a while and then starts to act up again, replace it. Don't move the shaft when you get it out, just spray clean the pointed end and shaft as best you can, and put it back in and try it.
