Re: f 150 will not drive
Hey, it could be clutches bad, get a bottle of transmission fluid and se what it smells like, then pull the stick on your tranny and see if it smells way different, like it has been burned or over cooked..lol. Also, if you know some one with a scanner you can see the codes for the transmission and it will tell what is wrong. Hope this may help you. Also before you pay a bunch of money to get it fixed, let me know I bet I can help you save some real bucks.

Long story but not here. Possible "weak" sensor. The other you won't believe as I am a mechanic and with a transmission specialty shop we finally figured it out something as my F150 4 x 4 as it does this. Does it happen when you drive in one special area? This is important. This causes the truck transmission to go in safe mode as it won't up shift to forth gear (actually overdrive 1.1 ratio). You can correct this temporarily by disconnecting the battery. Some people say connect the two cables, make sure you take them loose from the battery first, with a screw driver for about 20 seconds. AS to the "special area" that it occurs.. EITHER a strong microwave or driving close to an airport with strong radar can trigger this event. Take note WHERE YOU ARE WHEN IT HAPPENS. You'll know when it comes on as you will get a 'sound' warning and give you a written warning. To long a story and a big expense as to how we found this out.
There are several ! signs on the dash, and they all signal a failure that makes the driving risky. The ! sign in what appears to be in between parenthesis ( and ) is a warning sign for the brake failure - driving the car in this condition is extremely dangerous.
Tow the car to the nearest repair shop. If you can't tow it then drive it there extremely slowly and with a hand on the hand brake - the main brakes can fail any minute now.
this is the check engine light does it come on then off? did it stay on? if this light is comming on any one of a hundred or more thing can cause it. from a loose gas cap to a sticking sensor. you might want to have it hooked to a computer to see what is causing it might be a minor problem like low washer fluid and it could be the start of a serious one. these lights remind you of scheduled maintinance, low fluids, oil changes ect depending on the manufacturer standards.i would check all of the fluids and if they are ok then get it checked better to be safe than sorry
the sign which is shown can you properly define it weather it is a brake sign or some thing or different without proper explanation no body would be able to solve your problem sir you do one thing better confirm what sign it is or simply it is better you refer to your owner manual booklet for further clarification if still are confused than better to visit to nearest authorized workshop or service station. till the next time i solve your queries this siddhanth saying bye for now have happy motoring & safe drive
Yes there should be, depending on which engine & transmission. Go to (autozone.com) and sign up for free & you will get access to repair manuals & pick drivetrain , find your transmission & it will give you procedures to adjust.
Sounds like clutch. The clutch is almost gone and worn unevenly, so if you baby it, it will stay engaged if you put alot of stress on it like up a hill it will slip. This symptom is the warning sign, it will get worse as to where you can't engage any gear. The more it slips the quicker it will fail.
