7.3 Turbo Diesel 1995 Ford... I need to know what this 3

3" pipe coming from the oil filter area running horizontal towards front of engine with oil and water r antifreeze running thru it I believe. It has two o'rings on both ends that went out and all my oil leaked out. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT THIS PART IS CALLED....

The only fix I have found is to purchase the ford replacement part at a local dealership. Its rather expensive at $185. Dont know the part number off hand, but any experienced parts counter person should know of the part. Its common.

Diesel Shop was correct may be blowby or may be to much pressure on your combustion chamber and it could be a head gasket going. I would do a compression check just to be safe. It's simple the cooling system check fits onto where your radiator cap goes and refer to a technical manual on your max pressure on your cooling system. I would do this just to be better off safe than sorry you know.

Ok, lets take this from the top. I have a 97 f250 diesel. In mid may mine did the same thing. It's either one of two things. You have under valve cover harnesses (uvc). They slide in under your valve covers, you will see two wiring harnesses on the outside of the valve cover gaskets on either side of the block. Ok, it IS possible one of these slipped out of place and killed two of your injectors, causing the horrible running/ low idle/no power/ sounds like the truck is going to stall symptoms. The easiest way to check that is to unplug the wires while the truck is running and see if it kills the engine, if it doesen't unplug the other one on the same side of the valve cover. If both of these don't cause any change then you have a bigger problem, the IDM (Injector drive module).

FAIR WARNING: When you unplug the wires with the truck on it is extremely dangerous, it is 110 volt feed. It can kill you.

OK, the IDM is a silver box, 8"x10" approx dimensions, located on the driver side under the hood, over top the front tire. If you take the wires you unplugged and take a multi meter to them and they are dead, you have a bad IDM. This was the case with my truck. Ford designed the IDM to have a hole in the side to allow condensation to escape from it, unfortunately, this allows water inside and will short out resistors and practically kill half of your engine. Buy a new IDM on ebay for about $380. It takes 5 minuts to put it in.

No' not another filter/seperator (there's only one of them) but the injector pump has a brass screen on the inlet it's been known to collect the little fuzzy's off those non ford filters some folks use (simptom is truck idles ok but stalls or stumbles on acceleration)
use carb cleaner with red straw to blast screen out and get rid of those fuzzy's and dump the AAHHEmmm (Inexpensive) filters

ohh yes and I allmost forgot the fuel tank pickup has a intake screen on the end of it if your tank is rusty thats where it's gonna collect
you gotta take the bed off to get to that ..

probably not. put aluminum seal in the cooling system and top off antifreeze. you may need a hose or fitting from where you are decribing the leak. if the leak stops with the sealant you are good to go. otherwise take it to a shop and they will tell you. do not tell them you think it is a head gasket.

For a 1995 ford escort with a 1.9 engine, where does the fuel line from the filter connect on the fuel rail?

Find the fuel injector, then trace the fuel rail backwards to the connector, might be a saftey clip on top of the chrome plated connector....it's round and needs a special tool to open the spring inside the connector. The link below is for a 3.0L Taurus engine, same connector though.

Oil in the Engine Respirator and in the Turbo

oil in the turbo to manifold section is indication of a failing turbo
To understand turbo operation , they do not have bushes or bearings that are a close fit on the shaft but have a floating bush that is dragged around by the friction of the oil ( turbos spin at up to 150.000 rpms under full power ) so the effect is that the differential speed of shaft to housing is halved by the bush rotating
unfortunately , what destroys turbos is , when the engine stops with the turbo shaft still spinning and very hot , the shaft touches the bush and the oil seal fails allowing oil into the inlet side of the system and out the exhaust side as well
If the mechanic has recommended that the turbo be replaced , I would say from what you write that it is a fair assessment of the problem
as to the rest , you can get that information from a service center that has experience on the make
It has to be a diesel oil 20w 40 grade depending on work conditions and atmospheric temperature
oil filter should have a nonreturn valve in the filter,- air filter should be replaced --not washed
there are many good brands on the market so it amounts to personal preference
One thing I always recommend to customers is to spend a bit of cash and install an oil accumulator for the turbo and a delay switch to switch off
the accumulator becomes pressurized with oil when the engine is running and if the engine stalls or is shut down quickly, that stored oil pressure still feeds oil to the spinning turbo for up to 3 minutes , which is enough time for the shaft to slow down

1995 F350 7.3L turbo diesel leaking fuel from the top of the engine? I don't have any idea where it's coming from. There is diesel fuel on top of the engine like a "well". Any ideas??

Check around you fuel filter its on the very top at the front some have a valve on the filter housing that have had problems leaking. check around your filter housing good

Need to remove the turbocharger from truck to replace oil cooler. Am unable to get it out. It is a 2003 ford 250 superduty tubo diesel 6.0 litre

1 - Remove the turbocharger intake tube
2 - Disconnect the charge air cooler inlet pipe
3 - Remove the push pins on turbo cowl
4 - Disconnect the turbo VGT solenoid
5 - Remove the oil supply tube
6 - Using the special tool, remove the oil feed tube
7 - Remove clamp from the turbo down pipe
8 - Remove the clamp from the turbo inlet
9 - Loosen the exhaust inlet pipe-to-EGR cooler clamp
10 - Loosen the RH & LH exhaust inlet pipe-to-exhaust manifold nuts
11 - Remove the rear turbocharger mounting bolt
12 - Remove the front mounting bolts
13 - Position the turbocharger and remove the turbocharger drain tube
14 - Remove the turbocharger

If you cant do it with these instructions put down your wrench and take to a dealership for a professional to work on it

WAS BLOWING BLACK SMOKE AFTER RUNNING GREAT, NOW.....

I wouldn't drive it until you get a scan done to determine what the problem. Diesels are very expensive to fix. I would lean towards the cam shaft sensor has failed but don't quote me on that.

Oil leak on top front of 2002 f350 super duty diesel engine

if it's a diesiel the it's coming from your oil line to your turbo. if it is gas then it could be a leak coming from a leaking valve cover gasket.
