Question about 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan
My 2004 grand caravan has a problem with the front blower motor. I turn the dial and it does nothing. It stopped after my wife got gas. It was working when she shut the van off but was not working when she restarted it. I checked the 40amp fuse under the hood but it appeared to be fine. Any idea what might be the problem?
I had the same problem. It was the blower motor resistor. To verify this, open the glove compartment and push in on the sides to release it from the dash. The resistor is right in front bolted into the duct with two screws (9mm Hex head) and their are two electrical harnesses connected, one with 5 wires and the other with 2 wires. To bypass the resistor, take a piece of wire and connect the plain dark blue wire to the black wire. If the blower comes on, the resistor is bad. Make sure that you have the fan on high to tell if it runs. The resistor should be in stock at a dealership and cost approximately $30. The Blower Motor Assembly costs about $90. Removal of the part is simple, disconnect the two harnesses and unbolt the two screws.
