1998 Jetta GLS The center vent, radio, and seat heater controls were all ripped out by thieves.  Where can I find the parts to replace?  I have searched the web with little luck.

If you can't find an auto part and don't want to pay dealer cost......
Call an Auto Recycling or Junk Yard and they will find it for you!
Most Junk Yards Share Inventory so if they don't have it they can get it for you!
Good Luck!

Need help removing center consol to get to radio and heater controls

Its not as complicated as it looks.first of all the front and only part of the center console you need to move simply pops out with two snap in connections at the top and to mounting screws in the back lower bottom...keep in mind moving this part of center console is only for the removal and installation of heater unit...Now for the radio is also quite simple.once you have the heater unit consolek removed, the dash component and vent cover needs to be removed. If you open both car doors @ look
on both sides of your dashboards, theres two covers.remove them..on passenger is a mounting screw for the dash cover.once removed, cover has several snap in connections that will detach it from location...be careful when doig so...now you will see full radio and its mounting bolts...there u have it..hope it helps...

I changed my battery in my 1998 Volkswagen Jetta GLS and need my radio code.

Call dealership they can give it to you and if you call on a cell phone from the car you can tell the dealerif you have a problem right then. My battery went dead and that's what I did. Most cars with radio codes are all the same for their cars.

Found mine right above the cigarette lighter, behind the blank, had the check engine symbol on it if you look close enough.

Got heater core need to put it in,want to now how to do it the right and fastest way

In order to replace a heater core in a 1998 gmc jimmy the coolant must be completely drained and the entire dash including radio, vents and panel covers must be removed. four screws hold the top portion(closest to the windsheild) in place. they can be found under the windshield defrost vent. after the entire dash is removed a safety harness under the steering column must be removed and the steering column must be dropped to the driver seat. The heater core housing(black plastic) is located right center of the dash and is a two part housing one piece on top of the other. the housing is attached to the fire wall and must detached before replacement can continue. after detaching the housing from the fire wall separate the housing by unscrewing the six screws that hold it together. the heater core is now exposed. disconnect the heater core from the two hoses and discard. installation is the un installation process in reverse.
Good luck, it is a very long and drawn out process that is not accomplished in just an hour or two . make sure you have most of the day or several afternoons to finish . i started this and it took me 2 afternoons to take apart and put back together
