Question about 2006 Ford Ranger

1 Answer

Hi - The jet for the window washer fluid on the passanger side was damaged. I bought a replacement part (2L5Z017603-AA) Kit-Jet. The driver side tubing is exposed within the engine compartment, the passanger side is behind the fire wall. Would I have to remove the dash to install the jet? Marianne

No you will have to remove the wiper cowl , remove the wiper arms and any exposed clips holding the cowl down , sometime ford used Blind clips so it may feel attached after you remove any exposed screws . BE careful around the windshield !!!

Window washing fluid pump isn't working. Hums and runs, but no fluid comes out. Any ideas?

1. the washer fluid jets are plugged possibly and will not allow fluid to discharge. Take a small wire or needle and stick into the jet end where the fluid comes out and it should spray after that if that is the issue.
2. the lines coming from the washer pump could be broken or cut open. Remove the line at the back of the spray jet either at the hood or at the wiper arm, then attempt to spray the wiper fluid. If it does not spray then there is an open/broken line coming from the washer pump or the pump may have a problem. If fluid is coming out of the line, the jet again is plugged up. Also check to see that fluid is going into the washer pump (locating the pump and getting to it is sometimes not so easy depending on where the mfg put the pump).

How to unblock rear window wiper water pipe on I10

Firstly have someone operate the rear washer while you listen for motor operation at the front wheel well of the car (same side as the washer fluid reservoir).
If you can't hear the motor, then the motor is likely faulty and requires replacement.
You can operate the front washers to locate where both motors are. (under the car, beside the wheel well.)

If the motor is working but no water is coming out, then remove the rear washer jet and disconnect, then using a high pressure airline, blow backwards into the jet to clear out any blockage. If you don't have a high pressure airline with nozzle, then use something like the nylon filament from a yard brush to poke into the jet, to try and clear the blockage.

Landrover Discovery 300tdi 1997 Windscreen Washer Diagram

Hello! The rear washer tubing runs from the reservoir up thru the front corner support column, thru the roof and over to the door. The tubing run from the reservoir to rear door washer jet differs between left and right hand drive vehicles. On right hand vehicles the tubing run is on the left hand side of the roof. On left hand drive vehicles, the right side.

Normally, there is always fluid present in the tubing, thus no priming is necessary and it prevents any clogging... The rear washer jet is is more than likely plugged... Guru...saailer

Ran fine to friends house has not started since. replaced plugs, wires, coil, getting fuel, fire to and from coil, i am lost

If this one is with a Carb. then sometimes the idling jet washer gets loose after getting worn out or compressed and with vibrations the jet rotates and looses its ideal place. Check for jet on lower side next to throttle wire under the air filter housing. Tighten the same fully and loosen 2 threads. If the thing starts, replace the ring washer which can normally be bought from the dealer with carb. kit.

Wiper fluid comes out only on driver side when trying to clean window. Is there some sort of manifold or solenoid valves that dispense the fluid to each side. Also when trying to clean rear window no...

Look at the fluid canister, You will see a hose that leads to the hood and splits to the right and left. The hose that leads to the pass. side could be clogged up or the fluid jet that fluid comes from could be clogged up. Disconnect the hose from the pass side jet, and see if fluid comes out when turning on. If so, then the jet is the problem. These can be bought from a parts store, but will not be OEM. the front and back are controlled with one pump, which I don't think is the problem. The rear may be the same problem, try doing the same as you do for the front. Sometimes the car wash soap you use or wax can build up and block the jet hole up.

Windshield wiper jet

Try celaning the tiny port of jet with adequate needle. Fact that "other one is working" tells that windshield washer pump is working and that fliud is present. That means - just some physical obstacle is preventing fluid flow.

WIper fluid does not flow

Hi Curran

Usual problem is that the jets nozzles become blocked.

Get a small sewing needle, and clear the jet, preferably when a friend operates the washers.

If this is not successful you will need to pull the feed hose off the jet body, and once again operate to check for blockage or a kinked pipe.

Good Luck !
