Car runs smoothe when cold, heats up spits & sputters

As soon as the car heats up to normal temp. it starts to spit and sputter. Also when I rev up the engine it chokes out and won't start again until it cools down. I have done a tune up and I also replaced the fuel pump.

    I had a simular problem years ago with another Ford product and it turned out to be the car's computer. Do you think it could have anytlhing to do with it.

    Thank You

It could be one of two thing's, first idle-air bypass valve located on the throttle body ( Follow the hose up from the air filter, it goe's to the throttle body ) the idle-air bypass valve is bolted to the throttle body with two I believe 8mm bolt's, with one electrical connector going to it. The next could be the MAP sensor located under the hood upper passenger side of the fire wall this is also held in place with two 8mm bolt's and has one vacuum line going to it, hope this help's you.

It may be one of several sensors. The best thing to do is have it scanned for a code. They do it free at many auotoparts stores. but it seems like it could be the (temperature control sensor) TPS , it coud also be the MAF (mass airflow sensor). It could also be someting you can fix yourself. Which is to clean the IAC (idle control Valve.) Buy a can of carburator cleaner or even brake cleaner. You take off the aircleaner duct work. The valve is directly inside towards the fuel system.Run the engine at 1200 to 1500 rpms slowly spray the cleaner into the opening towards the valve.Turn off the car. Then try again to see if the valve is cleaned out.Repeat the proces for a second time. that valve can also be taken off , it is on the air cleaner just inside the opening. But it can be cleaned fairly easy. be sure to check your airfilter and if you hit it against something and it has dust. replace it. i hope this helps and that you vote for my answer if it does.

This can be caused by a problem in the fuel pressure check valve of the fuel pump. Have a pressure leak down test run by a shop, if the system is losing pressure then the pump assembly must be replaced. The fuel pump is located inside the gas tank and is electric

look towards... fuel filter clogged; faulty or incorrectly gapped spark plugs -- I think they are like at 0.64 (which is huge) -- and please do yourself a favor & be sure to use the special plyers to remove the spark plug wires - they are very expensive; other: you may have other faults in either or both the electronic or fuel systems; test the ohms resistance in the spark plug wires for bad wires; possible vacuum leaks at the throttle body, intake manifold or vacum hoses; weak or faulty ignition systems;
the electronic advance on the timing.. These checks are not in any certain order, you only have more detailed information which could point you in which direction first... Good luck with your project & please provide feedback...
