I have a 2001 suburban that periodically locks up and wont move, but will if you shift gears from forward to reverse.any input

Is it a 4x4? Sounds like the transmission (or transfer case) is binding internally, or you brakes are locking up and shifting from forward to reverse frees them up.

Car can move forward but cant back up

The transmission has failed. You will need it removed from the car and overhauled or a rebuilt unit installed.

I have mitsubishi montero 03 3.8 i have problems whith my transmission , when i put it in reverse or neutral itwanst to roll forward, what can be wrong whith it ?

First you should check the fluid levels of your transmission fluid. The fluid can be low and need a little added to it, but check the level first.

1983 mercedes 300D. Transmission problem. Reverse works fine, but engine just revs, like in neutral, in drive S or L. Fluid and vacuum are ok. My brother-in-law says just back to work (ha ha) He listens...

hi not sure on this particular moddel but usualy the sollenoids that run reverse and the forward gears are different so if the forward sollenoid is out it wont select certain forward gears. this will prob mean that the pan on the box needs to be removed and the filter and then both sollenoids (or there may be 3) but you should replace them all...

I have a 93 Chevy Suburban 1500 and the Transmission won't shift into any gear. I have an 1983 Chevy Suburban Transmission that is still good. Can I use the 83 Transmission in my 93 Suburban?

Not without a little adapting. The 1993 has a 4l60e which is electronically controlled and has shift solenoids. If the 83 is an overdrive it is a 700r4 which is the same trans but not electronic. If you put it in the speedo wont work and you will need to install a T.V. cable so the transmission will shift. The 93 won't go forward or backwards?

1998 suburban wont start consistantly

Get the car going if you can then take it to Advance auto parts or somewhere where they can get a down load of faults from the computer. The intermittant hesitation you describe could be the computer calling for very advanced timing at the wrong time. This easily could be a computer problem

Good Luck

'03 suburban transmission

It might fix the problem but you may also have a shift sensor that is starting to go bad as well take you suburban to autozone or an o'reillys if you have one of those auto parts stores near you and they can do a scan on all the sensors to tell you if your vehicle is showing any problems with any of your sensors I hope this helps you out.
