Question about 1992 Honda Accord
My 92 Accord will not catch and start when I turn the ignition. It sounds as though it wants to, but just won't grab. We have already tested the battery (which was old and bad), now there is a new one in there. Still nothing. I can confirm that it not the "clicking" sound you would get if it were the starter, but beyond that, I'm at a loss.
Someone mentioned to me that it could be flooded and to take the spark plugs out to let them dry?? But I believe it's a fuel injected car, so isn't flooding incredibly unlikely?
Please help, car is in my parking garage at work stranded....
Do you smell gas when you turn it over? If you do (and you probably do) Check to see if you have any spark (chances are you won't). I everything I metioned above is the case, replace the distributor. While you're at it if you haven't recently replaced the cap, rotor, wires, and plugs, (tune up) I would do it all at the same time. The distributor tends to run about 300 bucks but you'll only do it once. You are correct about the flooding being unlikely by the way.

Change your starter it's bad but first have them check it out.
