Question about 2006 Chevrolet Impala
My 2006 chev impala. (V6) (Just purchased) When i start the engine with the remote the engine temp will come up to normal without supplying any heat to the cab. Until I get in and raise the rpm to about 1500 or so...suddenly i will have heat. If i allow the engine to go back to idle for a period it will blow cold again.
Had the same problem with my 2006 Impala with the 3.5 engine - there is an air pocket in the heater core. With the engine cold, remove the upper heater hose (marked with blue tape in the picture) and add water to the hose until coolant comes out of the metal cross-over tube. Fix takes 5 minutes…all you need is a pair of pliers and a funnel.

First of all check and make sure you have enough coolant both in the radiator and in the reserve do this when the engine is cold, and if it is very low top it up and check for leaks and repair as needed

My 2006 impala 3500 does the exact same thing. No not a thermostat problem, if you read other posts engine is at temp. Also, flushed the system and refill with fresh coolant using a flush T to bleed system. Still intermittent heat. What does this flash do.

I think you have a thermostat problem.
