The first time
this happened I received message 'transaction not available' as each electrical
option shutdown. Car would not restart without a boost ; would not continue
to run after a boost. 2nd time - noticed gauges not working then ABS and
traction control and stopped working - I spun out of control. Car would still
run and tested the battery was fully charged. Alternator and Battery have both Tested "Good" Code Reader Shows no Problems 2nd Alternator
test - car ran.idled 15 minutes off Alternator without any electrical
problems showing up anyone know where to explore next ?

are your dasboard lights at full brightness?Turn your headlight switch(it may be on the interior light detent).BTW I drive a '97 Bonneville SE and one great thing about these cars is that if you leave a light on it will shut off after about 5 minutes so it won't drain your battery overnight.
I am having the same problem and also occasionally the cruise just shuts off when I am driving on dry, straight roads. Code C1288 was cleared, but it continues to happen. I was told that the electric brake module needs to be reprogrammed and that it will cost about $80.00. They are still looking into it.
Grab yourself a cable type hose clamp tool.. a long pair of hose removal pliers. drain the radiator and remove the hose clamps and hosed from the passenger side firewall ( hidden behind the A/c acumulator ). from the passenger side remove the end cap from the heater box under the dash. take it out and put it back together in the reverse order.
