How do i adjust the tension belt on the alternator

You don't adjust the tension. The tensioner on that serpentine belt is spring loaded and never needs adjustment.
On a 2001 with normal miles (~125k), you should be on your second tensioner pulley and your third serpentine belt by now.

How do you adjust the tension on 1995 cadillac deville serpentine belt?

usually these are self tightening held with tension with a automatic tensioner if your car dosent have an auto tensioner then look for an adjustment screw turn it clockwise until the desired tension is accuired. there may be a locking screw behind the adjuster if so loosen that and then make your adjustments.

Serpentine belt replacement

2.0L Engines
See Figures 11, 12 and 13
The accessory drive belt for 2.0L engines has no provision for manual belt adjustment, since these engines use an automatic belt tensioner. Drive belt slack is taken up by the automatic tensioner.
Movement of the automatic tensioner assembly during engine operation is not a sign of a malfunctioning tensioner. This movement is the tensioner self-adjusting and is required to maintain constant belt tension.
The belt tensioner has a belt length indicator. If the indicator marks are not between the MIN and MAX marks, the belt must be replaced.
