Question about 2004 Dodge Durango

1 Answer

Starter will not turn over

2004 dodge durango girlfriend let it run completely out of gas then had it towed home where it has sat for about 6-9 weeks. I put a little over a 1/4 tank of gas in it some dry gas as well and a new battery. I turn the key and all I get is a click like there isn't enough juice and this with a jump as well..

My 2004 Dodge Durango has a brand new battery and starter. It also has a security system on it. Everything works it just won't turn over. What can I do?

Sounds like the immobiliser is working well. You have to tape a key near the ignition switch when you have a remote starter installed.

2004 dodge durango started fine then i went to the gas station tried to start it and it wouldn't it wanted to start

If the engine cranks over and does not run, you need to decide if it is a fuel problem or an electrical problem.
If when you turn the key you hear a click, you probably have an open in the starter.

2004 dodge ram, factory tow package. new trailer harness and lights, brake and turn signal work, no running lights. checked all fuses, they look ok. haven't tested w/ another vehicle yet to see if it is...

take a test light and check for power at the pins, also try cleaning the pins on the conector. if you plug it in and the running lights still work on your truck its probably a broken wire.

My 2004 Dodge Durango will not start, battery is good the starter sounds good it just won't turn over? It happened after running good the entire morning.

theres wires that go to the starter that could have come loose. sometimes theres fusible links in those wires that go bad.
but most likely you have a bad fuse somewhere

What is the firing order for a 2004 dodge durango

The firing order is a sequence of ignition time when the engine cylinders deliver their power-strokes starting with the number-one cylinder. If this sequence is faulty or arranged disorderly, the engine may not start at all, and if it does start, it may does so hesitatingly, or not run enough well to enable it to drive-or simply lacks the power to move. A waste of gas, and unecessary tear and wear on the engine and its critical components ultimately result. Once the firing oder is correc and in proper sequence, the engine should starts easily and promtly, running as quietly as posiible.

For Dodge 2004 Durango firing-order:
All 6-cylinder K 3.7L MFI SOHC distributorless ignition:
1-6-5-4-3-2 (front 2-4-6) (back 1-3-5)

All 8-cylinder N 4.7L SFI (including HEMI 4-WD)
1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 (front 2.4.6.8) (back 1.3.5.7)
(distributorless ignition)
It is also a good thing to try and compare the thread lenghts of the old spark-plugs being replaced with the new.

Put at least 3 gallons of fuel in your tank. Turn the key to the on position and let the fuel pump run for a little bit to refill the fuel lines. Attempt a restart.
