Question about 2006 Jeep Liberty
Car ran down overnight due to leaving key in switch in accessory setting. Tried a jump start to no avail. Car started but stopped when accelerator pushed down. Now, no grinding sound as in engine trying to kick over. No sound, but dashboard lights up. Man at parts place were I went for battery mentioned an anti-theft issue, BUT I Have the key and I still cannot get it to start.
It seems senseless to me to have to have the car towed to a dealership for a simple battery replacement issue. There were NO start-up or electrical problems before the switch was left on over night from aproximately 5:00pm to 6:00 am.the next day.
Any recommendations on what approach I can try next wiould be greatly appreciated.
Examine the relays for ignition and fuel under the hood and or the fuse panel under the dash.... replace them... or swap them out for an accessory that uses a relay that isn't critical to the operation of the vehicle...
