Re: Window jumped off window track
the best way to fix it is to replace the window run channel (rubber the glass slides in) and the regulator. or to get by if the regulator isnt bent take the door panel off, take the door glass out, the front of the run channel inside the door is bent foreward a little bend the metal track to the rear a little by hand, careful its weak, spray the run channel with silicone spray and reinstall the glass. if the run channel is torn it wont last.

You don't need to go to a Merc dealer, take out the panel and have a close look at the window mechanism, it might have just pop out from the rail, if not you can get a mechanism in a motor parts shop (non genuine) with a 12 months warranty, and fit it by yourself or with some help.
Remove the door panel,to access the window regulator.
Most likely the regulator will be broken.
If you attempt to just put things back together, they will, as you say, jump off again. e.g. something is worn or broken,so look for that to be your problem
Two man operation for temp fix. Someone work the button while another puts glass between hands. You may have to go up and down till the window gets on track. You two have to work together to acheive this. Don't use too much force or the window may come out of the track completely. Just help the window. Once you get the window up you have to replace the window motor. tuff job
Most likely the rail has come loose inside the track you can drill a hole and put a #20 nut and screw in it to hold it tight so it won't move the track is the most common thing to wear out on the window. once you repair it it should be fine check all four corners the most common break is in the lower right side looking at the door with it open. Also the track will come loose as well and that can cause you the same problem, with thecover off the door operate it so you can determine which area it is jumping from and then fix it. also lube the tracks with syntheticgrease to keep it from being hard to roll up also lube the rollers in the bottom of the track.
It sounds as if the window might have jumped off the track when the door slammed. You will have to take the door panel off to be able to see inside the door to determine if in fact it has jumped track.
it could be the switch on the door panel??? Are it could be the motor to the window. Take the door panel off, and jump the switch out. If it works by jumping the switch out. it will be and easy fix. It not, then you will need a new window motor. You can sometime pick an motor up for half price and your local junk yard. When you find your problem out and get it fix. go to the autoparts store an pick up a can of spray silicon lubercant, and spray it in your window tracks. over a pirod of time the window start dragging, causing the motor and switch to fail.
You can buy a new window motor and track(its one piece at auto zone for about $30 you take off tee door panel then unsrew the track and put the new one in . it took me a few mins to figure out how to get them off and on but it wasnt too difficult.
