Thanks, I will give it a try. This is the response I recieved from Toyota! see below

    Mr. Rogers,

We are aware the 2007 Camry Owner's Manual states the speed linked seat belt reminder buzzer can be disabled. However, the same owner's manual is published for more countries than the United States, most notably Canada and therefore, not all information in the owner's manual pertains to the United States,

We do not endorse disabling the buzzer as the United States government requires an audible alert if the front seatbelts are not engaged. Therefore, we do not offer any assistance in disabling the buzzer.

In reading my toyota owners manual and on page 150 it says "The vehicle speed linked seat belt reminder buzzer can be disabled. For details, contact your Toyota Dealer." i was hoping i could follow some proceedure to do this that would not involve the expense of a trip to the dealer. Thanks, Don

I have the same problem. I do not want a bell tone to remind me to put on a seat belt. I always wear it, since the 1970's even before it was required. But traveling to my mail box I do not want this feature and need to disable it. I have a 2009 Camry. How can I do it myself?

Your dealer will use their scan tool to interface with your vehicle; that will disable the speed link. I provide this service at no charge.

You are getting the standard "boilerplate" response.

The CEC does not provide exact information as you have asked; They usually route you back to the dealer body.

BUT, here is what you need to know, and how to do it:

Take the car to an authorized Toyota dealer.

Have them hook up the "TechStream" tool.

Tell the Tech to go to "Custom Setings"

    Then choose "Warnings"

Then scroll down to "DP On/Off"

Choose the options that you want on and or off.

This allows the audible noise to be defeated.

Thnaks for choosing FixYa to solve your question.

The graciousness of a FixYa rating would be greatly appreciated.

Loud buzzing noise seemingly coming from gauge cluster area. Only happens when car is moving under load, or not under load. Does not happen when vehicle is idling.

Could be seat belt Buzzer / Door / Tailgate not closed securely warning Buzzer Stuck ON since car in park these buzzers do not activate but you said under movement sound occurs .. Mechanically I would Check Altenator for Proper Charge output - Then Ground wires for Battery / Corrosion needs cleaning ?? - Plus Dash Cluster must be Grounded Tightly .

In my 2006 ford fusion 2.3L whenever I put my key in the ignition and turn it a weird solid ringing sound start and stops 5 seconds later hat could it be?

Not surprisingly, many others have experienced problems with the ignition switch on this car. Historically, it is not a sound, but that the key is stuck in the ignition. http://repairpal.com/key-will-not-come-out-of-ignition-570 Your problem sounds different, but it may be related. Although I do not recommend the fix in the link above, it is possible the previous owner of your car did perform this fix and it has resulted in the problem you now have. My better guess is that the chime/buzzer has failed due to moisture or dirt and is no longer producing the sound that it should, but instead is altered to the ringing you describe. To disable follow these instructions:

1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN (or ON) position. (DO NOT
START THE ENGINE)
2. Wait until the safety belt warning light turns off. (Approximately 1
minute)
Step 3 must be completed within 50 seconds after the safety belt
warning light turns off.
3. For the seating position being disabled, at a moderate speed, buckle
then unbuckle the safety belt 9 times, ending in the unbuckled state.
(Step 3 must be completed within 50 seconds after the safety belt
warning light turns off.)
After Step 3, the safety belt warning light will be turned on for three
seconds.
4. Within 10 seconds of the light turning on, at a moderate speed, buckle
then unbuckle the safety belt.
This will disable the BeltMinder feature for that seating position if it
is currently enabled. As confirmation, the safety belt warning light will
flash 4 times per second for 3 seconds.
This will enable the BeltMinder feature for that seating position if it
is currently disabled. As confirmation, the safety belt warning light will
flash 4 times per second for 3 seconds, followed by 3 seconds with the
light off, then followed by the safety belt warning light flashing 4 times
per second for 3 seconds again.
I hope this helps. Good luck.

The weight sensor in the seat is bad if this is the passenger seat. When you connect the seat belt, the sensor is disabled.

The driver side seat belt buzzer keeps ringing even with the belt buckled

Find and disconnect the seat belt buckle connector. short the two wires together on the harness side with a paper clip. If the chime/buzzer quits, the problem is in the buckle assembly. If the chime/buzzer is still going off, the problem is some where in the wiring or module.

I want to turn the seat belt buzzer off

It's possible to turn the seatbelt buzzer off, but another buzzer will remain you that your seatbelt-system has a fault! So it doesn't make sense to turn this one off. Your Jeep is equipped with a CAN-Bus System and more than three computers. Each one has connections to the other computer, and if there is a fault in any cirquit.... you'll get a reminder or buzzer.

Turn off Scion tC seat belt alarm

Buzzer Reminder Cancel Mode Setting
1) Set the LCD on the combination meter to the ODO display.
2) Press and hold the TRIP meter reset knob for ten seconds or more within six seconds of turning the
ignition switch to the ON position. Fastening the drivers seat belt while holding the knob cancels the
buzzer reminder.
3) When this occurs, the LCD displays -OFF. The buzzer reminder can be switched between ON and
OFF each time the TRIP meter reset knob is pressed. The LCD displays -ON or -OFF according to the buzzer reminder ON/OFF status. The display changes to the ODO or TRIP meter if the knob
is not pressed for ten seconds.
4) Performing steps 1) and 2) again when the buzzer reminder is off exits cancel mode.
5) The cancel mode will also exit when the battery or combination meter connector is reconnected.
