This is caused by a lack of oil to the rod bearing. Financially it will be cheaper to get a used engine and replace it as a whole. but if you desire, remove engine, turn upside down, remove oil pan, remove piston rod and bearing cap assy, inspect bearing, will be blue or locked and frozen/welded to the crank due to lack of lubrication. Keep me posted.

    1. Lack of oil pressure

    2. Clogged oil port, this is a small hole where the oil is pumped under pressure from the oil pump on to each bearing. When it is apart, look closely for the small port and check if is is blocked.

    3. These ports tend to get clogged over time when the oil is not changed in a timely manner, and if the engine is run too hot the oil can cake and clump.

Your left front wheel sensor is not sending a signal back to the computer. Could be a damaged wiring harness or the sensor has failed and the wheel hub will need to be replaced. Wiring harness may have become damaged about 10 inches back from the wheel

Have a 98 Olds Bravada it has a noise coming from rear of engine on the passenger side. Dealership said it was possible a transmission issue. I think differently, b/c the noise is at park or drive.

Depends on the noise. Tapping or knocking is rod bearings, engine side. Whining is the transmission side. Torque converter, pump, and parts further inside the transmission.

1996 Bravada heater doesn't seem to throw hot

the temp control on your dash operates a hot water valve under hood, it's probably vacuum aparated, like the doors in the heater housing, the valve may be close to heater core, check for vacuum leaks around dash control, totally unrelated leaks can cause problems, and yes a blocked heater core can definitly cause the problem, but I would save that unless it's easy to get at, eliminate other stuff first, luck

Recurring bent push rods/knocking engine- ideas?

I have seen this myself on a 3.4L (2.8, 3.1, 3.4, 3.5 & 3.9 are all mechanically the same engines). The valves may have a varnish build-up on their stems causing them to stick in the guides.

Spark plugs 2 98 bravada

use oil burning sleeves from any auto parts store, the screw right on the plugs, and hold the spark plugs out of oils way.

also check PCV valve and hose for clog. if they are clogged it will cause oil to burn in the cylinders. keep me posted

New spark plugs gone out

If the odor is not heavy gasoline, then they appear to be oil fouled. The cheap fix is to buy at any auto parts store oil burning plugs or sleeves, these will keep the spark plugs slightly further out of the cylinder, out of the oils way, and should provide a reasonable resolution.

Check the PCV valve and hose, if they clog they will cause oil to enter engien cylinders. keep me posted
