Dash board light by the gas gadge out on the 2001 Sienna

Is the light bulb burn out or the fuse in the fuse box? Where can I find the fuse that control the light on the gas gadge? The light on the speedometer is still ok. How do I fix this problem? I can't see how much gas I have when I drive at night. Thanks

At the RPM gadge, only half of the light is lid and by the gas gadge, there is no light. The temperature and the speedometer gadge are fine. How many light bulbs are on the dash board?

Also my automatic door button sometime work and sometime doesn't work? It's expensive to get the automatic door bottom and light bulbs replace on the dash board?

  • lakersreload Dec 18, 2008

The button next to the door right behind the driver seat.

Can an average person do this himself or it better to take it to the dealership?

You need to remove the screws that hold the outer trim panel that is in front of the inst cluster. Then, you need to remove the 4 screws that holds in the inst cluster to the dash. Pull the cluster out, and then disconnect all of the wire connectors. Remove the now-disconected cluster from the dash. Flip it over, and remove the affected bulb, and replace it by loosening the socket assembly fro the printed circuit board of the cluster. Not hard, but not a 5 minute job, 1/2 hour off, 1/2 hour on.

Figure an hour for pulling the cluster at your local labour rate. Which auto door button are you talking about? The remote or the one on the dash?

    3 for illumination.

If you have the light working on the speedometer, the fuse is OK. You have a failed bulb. The instrument cluster/pod is going to need to be removed from the dash in order to replace the bulb.

Check engine light is not on...ever... Is it possible bulgb in dash is burned out? is there a specific fuse? a cable to disconnect if someone was being dishonest?.Appreciate any thoughts and what is...

Well you did not specify you were having vehicle issues.
Yes the bulbs do burn out, easy to change. Yes dishonest people remove bulbs or disconnect to sell a vehicle or what ever sneaky reason.
After unscrewing all needed to remove plastic cover you are able to pull out the dash console. Be careful when doing so because if it is digital then you can accidentally unhook the speedometer line,, I did that once,,LOL Anyways, there are connectors on the back and each connector will have a co existing bulb right around it. Pull the bulbs out one by one and see if it looks burned, you can tell between a good one and bad one. Also you can see if any of the connectors were unhooked.
There should be a fuse for the dash lights as well. Check that.

Remember just because a fuse looks good it does not mean your not having fuse box issues. I have seen good fuses but the connecting wires behind fuse box were having electrical problems. I have seen where people had to by pass certain parts of the fuse box-tying in to other wires to allow power to something else.
There are many thoughts on your question.

For most important thought is, are you having vehicle problems to even ask this question? Or are you just curious?

1991 Chevy Blazer dashboard lights are burned out. Can't read

Your dash needs to come out. These bulbs push into a plastic piece that "twists" into the back of the dash board. (About a 1/4 turn) Unless you can get at them from underneath, but I think it's to tight.
