ive rplaced the thermostat, radiator cap, flush the radiator, bleed the water system for air lock. The only other thing that i'm thinking of is the head gasket. Can you give further advice on this please.

the steam is coming from under what i think is a manifold on top of the engine, there is a bit of coolant on the top of the engine aswell, but it is so tight under there i cant see what is going wrong, any ideas what could be leaking? could it be related to a head gasket problem ? thanx again

Antifreeze may be leaking check carefully to see where exactly is the steam coming from and get back tome.

It can be a head gasket problem however start with the basic stuff first, I think its a bypass water hose that connects to the intake manifold. I can't really provide much help from this end unless You can tell me exactly where this leak is coming from(source of the leak) Good Luck.

You need to either go buy a new thermostat, (because as always 3 out of 5 are bad off the shelf) so try a different one.
Also you can try bypassing your heater core see if it happens again. if it doesn't it's your heater core...other wise your radiator may be bad too... Try the thermostat first though. Good luck,.

1994 3.5 Concorde...engine fans stay on. Not overheating temp guage is only on 1/4 line.

Unplugging the sensors can make the fan run.
When the computer fails to get a signal from the sensors, it turns the fan on as a default step to keep the engine from overheating.
Its also possible the relay was stuck on.

My 1999 Audi a6 started overheating so I took the radiator cap of but the engine was still hot so antifreeze went everywhere so I filled it with water. I got in the car and the heat in the car wasnt...

I would suspect the thermostat has stuck closed. Drain the system, heater on hot, flush the system, replace the thermostat, pour in pure water and see if that cures the problem. If it does then drain the system again and pour in a 50/50 mx of antifreeze and distilled water. You also need to make sure the cooling fan is working and the water pump is circulating coolant in the system.

Hi Honda crv (98) R overheating.

SOUNDS LIKE YOUR THERMOSTAT IS STICKING,REPLACE THERMOSTAT FIRST OVERHEATING WILL DAMAGE ENGINE.IF THAT DOSEN'T WORK HAVE WATER PUMP CHECKED.FANS WON'T TURN ON IF HEAT FROM ENGINE IS NOT FLOWING INTO RAD BECAUSE THEROMOSTAT STUCK CLOSED,OR WATER PUMP FAILING

there is a coolant cap on the overflow bottle check it for seal
i'd just replace it
also if you put the new thermostat in backward the overheating would be significant
