I was in a 45 mph zone and slowed to make a turn into a store. As I was turning, engine stalled as I was rolling. I was able to restart, but something must be going that needs to be replaced.

If your check engine is not on, check for a vacuum leak by listening for hissing; check your pcv valve (replace it for 3 dollars if you don"t know how to check); check egr valve for clogging and proper function.

You may just have a dash light burned out. While driving over 50 mph you can activate the switch on the shift lever (it's a push button) and even if the light doesn't come on in the dash you should be able to see if you are in overdrive (will speed up) or if you just took it out of overdrive (slows down or motor runs faster at the same speed).

Check the fuel filter on car for a restriction. Check the air filter for a restriction(dirty). also check the IAC valve (idle/air/control) located on the side of the throttle body. To check the iac valve, start the engine and disconnect the electrical plug from the iac. Listen for a change in the idle of the engine. then reconnect the plug to the iac valve and turn on the a/c and listen for the engine idle speed to change. If not then replace the iac valve. Hope this will help you.

One suggestion:
Speed sensor failure.

Info:
Some of the classic symptoms, stalling at dead stops. failure to auto lock doors. poor fuel economy. Failure to go to overdrive.

Recommendation:
Go to your local parts store and run the failure codes.

Shop notes:
Your ECU thinks that the engine is running with out moving, During slow down the engine steps down the idle to match ground speed and as a result the engine will not stall. At present it goes directly to idle and stalls due to drag on motor.
Hope this tip helps.

The RPM of Nissan Altima stays high when drive over 65 MPH.

No....the rpms differ from engine to engine and from manufacturer to manufacturer. RPM's are always higher at higher speeds.

Stalls at low speed when in cruise control

You sould have recieved a "recall" notice in the mail about the cruise control for fire and failure issues. they are adding a fusable link where the cruise control harness connects to the brake master cylinder. if you have not had the recall performed yet you should SERIOUSLY consider getting it done, mainly so it doesnt catch fire, but "could" be the result of the failure you've been experiancing! btw, almost ALL Ford vehicles have been affected with the cruise control recall. hope this helps!

Car occasional stalls at slow speeds

The problem may be inexpensive to fix but difficult to diagnose. My recommendation is to go to a garage and have it put on a machine to get a diagnosis. This will be money well spent as stalling at low speeds in traffic is dangerous.
